Same.

With what has been on the line for him (multiple times), it's evident he has no desire to quit.

Drug addiction is a scientific lifelong sentence. Not hard to have sympathy for him. Dude just can’t beat it.

He needs to end this NFL thing and just focus on his life, clearly the two aren’t working out together

Geez, man.... At a certain point, you start to feel sorry for this guy. He has all the talent in the world but he just can't kick the drug habit.
Is weed addictive?

I feel the opposite way. At a certain point I say this guy doesn’t give a frick about getting clean and abiding by the rules.

He should have literally hired a 24hr guard to keep him clean for the duration of his NFL career

Weed isn't what Gordon can't stay away from.

Can someone explain the extent of his addictions? I've always assumed his real issue was something stronger than weed (opiates or benzos), but a lot of posters here say it's alcohol.

Hell no. If I was given the opportunity to make millions a year, but I couldn't drink while making those millions I would have no problem doing it. And I drink 3-4 days a week. He's had all the opportunity in the world to get his shite together and still can't.

Honestly, how many times is he going to go through this. He has been given like 50 chances by now.

He’s done multiple interviews about his substance abuse issues. It’s always primarily been alcohol and weed. I’m sure there’s other things as well but alcohol seems to be his big one

quote:

The receiver admits that he's basically been a functioning alcoholic his entire life.

"Highly functioning. For sure. [I] definitely pushed the limit," Gordon said. "I don't know how I did it. It could be before games, it could be before practice, after practice. You see other guys kinda doing it, but I would take it to another level a lot of times. Feeling as though I was being enabled, I thought it was an okay thing to do: 'Well, this is the norm.' And it wasn't. It definitely wasn't."

He’s been a drunk his entire adult life but the more sports board will say “just get it together”. Ok.
