Does Pippen really think he wasn’t considered a sidekick before this doc?

Horace Grant was a very underrated part of the Bulls first three-peat run. Bulls won 55 games with Pippen and Grant as their two best players, Grant left, and the Bulls went 33-31 in ‘95 before Jordan came back. Also, the Bulls went 24-11 when Pippen was out with the back injury in 1998.

How was MJ doing before he got Scottie? Several first round playoff exits come to mind. In MJ’s prime as well

This is the issue. LeBron is Batman and Anthony “Street Clothes” Davis is Robin. That’s a good comparison.

Pippen is more like Batman, but Jordan is Superman.
They are both great players and neither would have been as good as they were without the other. Plus having Phil as coach with great role players like Grant, Kerr, Rodman & Harper just made for some great teams.

Pippen is a footnote in basketball history without Jordan.

2000 Blazers were thisclose to getting to the NBA Finals with Pippen. Bummer.

Powerhouses a stretch... Pippen had two MVP caliber seasons when Jordan semi-retired

That's misleading. Pippen had Phil for the majority of his Bulls tenure. MJ did not.

Im not trying to mislead. I’m just pointing out what happened in their nba careers

But on the blazers and the bulls, Pippen was more successful than MJ was without pippen

So blindly guaranteeing MJ would have won more titles without Pippen seems somewhat unfair

Yup. Without Jordan, Pippen wins zero championships. Without Pippen, Jordan probably wins 2, maybe even 3.

1 or 2 at best. Pippen was too valuable as a defender.

Odds are he spoke with MJ and told him it’s about the bucks, and MJ doesn’t give a crap.

In fact he’ll probably give some meaty quotes to help sales.

Every negative thing about Pippen in The Last Dance came directly out of his own mouth

My lasting memory of Pippen will be the battles with Detroit and his "migraines". He was terrified of playing them and they abused him. It took him years to overcome and become a steady sidekick..

He wasn't the best player on that team either.

Who do your replace pippen with? There are lots of players who you can take out pippen and put player x and they still win 6.
