It's a win-win for the Pats.

He sucks, well everyone knew that.

He succeeds, oh its another "smart move" by the Pats.

Yet 1 of the latter masks several of the former...

Saints turned hooman into a pretty good blocker who can actually catch well when the pats were gonna cut him. Pats ended up turning hicks into a decent dt for them who got paid a ton for potential afterwards

Doesn't hurt

What has Mingo done in this league?

7 sacks in 3 seasons. Impressive.

I have no doubt he has a much higher chance of success in NE, but acting like Mingo is something special is pretty ridiculous.

I agree and that's why they got him cheap. But I bet Belichick will put him in a better position to succeed.

Mingo will have 7 sacks just this season… Pats will put him in a situation to thrive.

I bet Wade Phillips could, but KeKe Mingo isn't good enough to even be Denver's 5th best outside linebacker in rush situations.

Von Miller
Demarcus Ware
Shane Ray
Shaq Barrett

They turned Sheard into a high end passrusher.

Mark Dominick of ESPN said earlier in the week that the Browns are pulling a 76ers, trading away all of their young players. Maybe he's right?

He's in a much, much better situation; there's no doubt about that. Patriots are the premier franchise with the best coach, he'll have a chance to revive his career.

Because the Browns have never had a good defensive player play wel for them?

Mingo has/had all the physical talent. Not so much else. Could be a big trade but I'd think he ends up being a situational edge rusher or a bench sub.

At this point, he isn't better than Sheard, Flowers, Ninkovich, and probably McClellan. At best he's a 4th option depth guy on the outside.

Starting that gimpy headcase Bobby Griffin at QB is a great way to accomplish this goal. Poor Deshaun Watson.

Just a guess but I think most agree NE will get the best out of all of their players
Which is nice because after this run with NE LSU fans will finally be able to realize that Mingo isn't all that good.

Yep. If a player is elite at one dimension, the Pats eccentuate that one dimension at an elite level
