Sage Steele tries to get fired from espn

Last week, SportsCenter host Sage Steele’s comments about how Disney and ESPN’s vaccine mandate were “sick” and “scary” made headlines. That clip was one provided to Awful Announcing and other websites in advance of her appearance on an upcoming episode of Uncut with Jay Cutler podcast.
quote:
Not included in those clips was one making the rounds on Sunday in which Steele discusses racial identity. In it, Steele, who is of African-American and Irish/Italian descent, is talking about a time she was asked how she would identify her race in the U.S. Census. In her answer, she pivots to President Barack Obama and throws a random dig out that is certainly raising some eyebrows on social media.
quote:
“If they make you choose a race, what are you gonna put? Well, both,” said Steele. “Barack Obama chose black and he’s biracial…congratulation to the President, that’s his thing, I think that’s fascinating considering his black dad is nowhere to be found but his white mom and grandma raised him, but okay. You do you. I’m gonna do me.”
“Listen, I’m pretty sure my white mom was there when I was born,” she continues. “And my white family loves me as much as my black family.”
quote:
Along with this and her comments about the vaccine policy and Obama’s father, Steele also discusses her feelings on up-and-coming female journalists having to deal with harassment and worse from male athletes, saying that “when you dress like that, I’m not saying you deserve the gross comments, but you know what you’re doing when you’re putting that outfit on.”

This doesn't include the comments about women kinda asking for it with how they dress. This coupled with her going to the papers last year it seems like she's trying to get suspended/fired to set up a wrongful termination settlement.

Is she conservative? That post sounds conservative?
A black woman who posts something conservative. Yeah, they'll fire her, but it's going to be hard.

Sounds like she’s paving the way for a much more lucrative political pundit career.

Yes.
And I have nothing wrong with what she is saying... that's how she feels. Everyone should be comfortable saying what they feel.
The only problem I have is that this board is going to celebrate her for speaking her mind, but if she were to praise her black heritage (because, y'know, she looks black) everyone on this board would be getting so mad at her for talking politics when she should be talking sports.
If you really think people should "stick to sports", you have to think that regardless if they say something political that you agree with.

Oh yes. Harris Faulkner should be very worried.

False
Being proud of your heritage is great
But shitting on other races and making false claims of racism is not

When you have a problem with honesty, you've got problems.
Don't think I've ever seen Sage Steele before and probably haven't since ESPN is only for games and nothing else here, but I'm a fan of hers now.

To be fair, Sage has definitely shitted on other races in the past.
She, like Mike Tirico, definitely aren't proud of being black.
But here's the thing, they are black, regardless of what they want to be. Same way that Caitlyn Jenner is a dude, regardless of what he wants to be. Same thing with Talcolm X.

Where's the lie?

Thats fair. The flip side of that though is that the people who support politics in sports most pretty much only hear stuff they agree with from athletes and sports media members. So of course they encourage it

When has Sage ever expressed that she's not proud of being black?

When has she ever claimed to not be black? Here, she claims to be biracial, which she is. There's a whole lot of black people out there that would insist that she is not black. Your little tranny comparison doesn't make sense at all. Neither does the Talcom X comparison. In your view, is she black, biracial or both? Do you think she is trying to pass for something she's not?
