I don't see how it can work unless the teams are put in Canada. I would much rather see some new teams in the US where the game originated. And belongs.

Congrats, Toronto. In all seriousness, if not Canada, it’s hard to see anywhere other than London for a permanent team internationally. Even that would be a stretch, but theoretically doable. They’d probably want to arrange it so they play 3 straight road games each time they travel to the U.S., then 3 straight home, etc., so they only make 3 trans-Atlantic trips per season. But don’t know how well being gone from home 3 straight weeks would sit with the NFLPA.

Despite it being a dumb idea of a myriad of reasons. I’ve always thought it makes way more sense from a strictly logistics point of view to have an entire division in close proximity abroad.

They’d play 10-11 games over there between home and division. They could come over here in 3 sets of 2. The teams playing against that division could get both games over with back to back over there then have a bye or Monday game or something upon return.

Toronto franchise would be cool. Screw Europe. Nobody waking up for an 8:00 AM game except degenerate gamblers.

The money each existing franchise will get by splitting the sale fee is why they will do it.If the new franchise sells for 5 billion each team will probably get around 150 million. Not a bad return for voting yes .

First team likely Mexico City, and then a full EU division long term he said. Teams in same division in cities like London, Paris, Munich etc.

Are those teams getting a higher salary cap? I don't see players wanting to sign there. What division would the Mexico City team be in?

No idea on salary cap. I do think the idea they wouldn't want to play there is a bit overrated, yes some would require higher offers to play there over others but that exists even now domestically for free agents where guys don't want to play for the same money for low tier uncompetitive teams and have to pay more to get them.

Also think you'd have a decent chunk of guys that would like to live abroad for a few years too. I believe the plan is that those teams would still train and have a facility in the US for off-season and when coming over for their stretch of games in US. So you'd realistically spend only a few months abroad total.

These players wont sign in europe as a free agent. They are already going to Florida and Texas teams because if no state income tax.

You think some undrafted guy is gonna root up his young family and move to London? Its retarded. Nobody will want to go there.

No players are going to want to go live and pay European taxes unless you way boost their pay
