arguello and Hagler should have been higher. No Chuck Wepner?

My only point was that he's always ranked REALLY high. List in the OP has him as the 3rd greatest heavyweight since WW2. I've seen lists from really respected experts that have him in the top 5. I don't have him QUITE that high. I guess I haven't thought that hard about it.

I understand what you're saying now, but the mythical 'pound for pound ' skews things.

Pound for pound' Charles boxing skills & resume has few peers boxing history , but as a pure Heavyweight I understand what you're saying. He certainly isn't the 3rd best pure HW since WWII & most people tend to put him in the top 15-20-25 Heavyweights ..

GOAT LHW or top 3-5 at worst who actually never won the belt because of 'business decisions'. Had Charles remained a MW we probably see SRR(better welterweight) differently.

George Foreman(and the bigger fighters) strength & power would probably be too much for a guy like Charles.

But few boxers have had enough skill like Charles to nearly clear out MW, LHW & HW.. He was masterful.

Hasn't Wladimir had like 17 or so title defenses? I dislike him and his competition is garbage but he's about the most dominant heavyweight champ ever

RJJ fought more trash in his career than any elite fighter of the last 30 years.

bullshite. Look what Foreman did to people before Ali. Foreman destroyed fighters like Tyson did but they were much much better. You can't compare Spinks to Norton.

Holmes should be higher.

There was one round in the fight where Holyfield was hitting Foreman with everything he had, and he couldn't knock him down. Was totally frustrated.

Roy Jones over B-Hop invalidates this list.

Louis' championship reign lasted 140 consecutive months; Louis was victorious in 25 title defenses, a record for any division.

I want to let everyone know that there were other boxers who received votes. I just didn't feel like adding all of them yesterday. I'll try to edit my list to include everybody who received votes.

But he cleared out the top 10 in three divisions (Middleweight - Lt Heavy). I agree the competition was horrible. It sucks that those traditionally strong divisions were horrible while Jones was reigning p4p king. But, he did clear out each division before moving on. That's more than what you can say for your boy Floyd. Floyd has had super fights at almost every weight class he has fought in that never happened or if they did, it was wayyyyy later than the public wanted (when the opponent was considered on the downside of his career) or had added stipulations to give him a competitive advantage.

I'm glad Galzaghe is not on the list with his 46-0 "best super middleweight ever" record.

Floyd isn't my boy and I've been very critical of him when it comes to not making fights or not making them at the right time. When you have the power and $ he has, he could've made any fight he wanted....but he didn't.

That's why I would never consider him a top 10 fighter of all time. Never. He's a top 5 defensive fighter but not a top fighter overall.

I like RJJ but I think he was able to look like superman for so long due to the tomato cans he was fighting. You saw his lack of skills when his reflexes started declining. When he lost that first bit of speed and athleticism, he was done. Great fighters adjust and change their game plans but Roy just became a fighter who ended up stretched out on the canvas waiting for the ref to wave it off. I agree it's not his fault the 175 divison sucked at that time but when you fight nobodies for a decade you can't be regarded as an all time great.

Vita;li is the most dominant fighter regardless of weight class in the history of boxing. That said I am ok with him not being on the list because unfortunately his competition just isn't there.

I coulda swore it was you that said in another thread not too long ago that Floyd is the greatest 135 lbs fighter ever. I forget the exact wording, but it was something similar. If it wasn't you, then apologies. That's why I referred to Floyd as "your boy" and is the only reason why I responded to you knocking RJJ opponents.

I can understand both sides of the argument when it comes to the ranking of RJJ. Some see the domination and being the best boxer of a generation and rank him high. Some point to his lack of competition and rank him low. I have no complaints either way because both points are valid. So not knocking you at all for whichever side you take.
