Solid player with a pretty great career. When he was with the saints i would have a slight heart attack every time we sent him out there for a punt return. If he had better hands he could have been a hall of famer

GOAT Highlight Video

Easily top 3 Buckeye of all time to watch. Every time he touched the ball because you felt like he was getting 6.

Lots of speed and stayed in good condition for a long time but Cam was fricking nuts to take him at 10th overall.

He had just come off a leg injury in the title game and his route running was pretty suspect to say the least. He could go deep and maybe do a slant but he wasn’t necessarily able to work the full route tree.

And then he tried to sell it by saying what a great punt returner he was. Dolphins need a QB badly and should have traded out of the 9th pick. Dolphins fans wanted Brady Quinn who went #22. Instead they passed on Patrick Willis, Marshawn Lynch and Darrell Revis and took Ginn Jr.

He bounced around. I was surprised he kept getting signed again and again.

My TGJr. football memory. One of the craziest injuries caused by his own teammates during a TD celebration. 2007 NCG vs. FLA.; Ginn takes the opening KO 93 yds to the house and tackled by a fellow buckeye. High ankle sprain and he never played another down during this game.

Calvin Johnson(only WR drafted before him)
Dwayne Bowe, Robert Meachem, Craig Davis, & Congressman Anthony Gonzalez all went in the 1st round that year.

Fast in a straight line that's about it.

Had a disappointing career - not an all time bust but certainly lackluster when one remembers the hype surrounding him in college.

Being the 9th overall pick and never eclipsing 1000 yards receiving is a pretty telling indicator of his abilities.

Bizarre player who was kind of a bust but also outlasted everyone in his draft class.

I remember how pissed all my dolphins fan friends were when they drafted him so high. They just needed to wait the 8 or so seasons it took him to learn to actually catch the ball. I’ll always love the drop it like it’s hot video somebody put out early in his career.

Drop it like it’s hot

To me, he'll always represent the hubris and ignorance of the Big Ten. I had so many Ohio State fans and midwestern college football fans swear up and down that the Ohio Nuts were going to wear Florida out in that national title game and when I told them that Florida had way too much speed for that they would scoff and mention Ted Ginn and swear he was Desmond Howard 2.0.

15 years later and they are still catching up.

He made me money.

Had him at +1200 to score first TD(For Saints) in playoff game. I knew he would get a chance at a quick slant and possible long td. Boom.

Ended up being a solid WR

frick yea. Dope story. Thanks for sharing.

I wish the dude would have won a SB with one of those teams to complete his career. I think he was closest with New Orleans.

Which makes it all the more bizarre he lasted 14 years in the league. Usually guys like that are out after a few years.
