RBs should have to keep control of the football all the way down for the score to count.

To the ground w/o losing control just like WRs? Agree or disagree?

No, I like the lunging and reaching for the line/Pylon plays. It's entertaining.

The ground can’t cause a fumble

The ground can cause an incompletion

People think this is a rule. It isn’t. The ground can cause a fumble in the NFL if there’s no contact.

The way I’d like to see it is if you don’t let the ground assist you in making the catch or maintaining possession and regardless of how much you may bobble the ball before you ultimately possess the ball then it is a catch if all other criteria are satisfied.

The moment the ball breaks the plane in the possession of the player, it's a TD and the ball is dead. If he loses possession after that point it is irrelevant.

Not if he is trying to catch a pass and has possession in mid air in the end zone. He has to survive the ground.

Correct but that is true anywhere on the field. He has to survive going to the ground in order for possession to be established. The key is having established possession.

the play is over if he possesses the ball as it crosses the plane of the goal.

catching of a forward pass is a different rule - move on.

That’s the part that gets me.

Possession for even a microsecond past the plane should be a TD.

This expectation for follow through in passes can get absurd.

That’s a TD. Not even up for debate

I’ve always thought this phrase was dumb. Of course it can’t, you’re down by rule before you can fumble (rare exception being untouched in the nfl).

Every time an announcer has used this in a college game, the play was over as soon as body parts hit the ground.

The ball crossed the goal line. That’s the definition of a touchdown. Cmon man

It’s a goal line.

It’s not a contingent goal line.
