Out of curiosity: How long has it been since a Heisman finalist didn't make the 53 man roster during their first year?

Or they came to the logical conclusion that the guy was going to be an absolute cancer in the locker room...which they should have known by about the middle of this past college season.

He was just a rookie camp invite that they kept for training camp after teams had locked up the udfas they actually wanted. Those guys are basically cannon fodder and get cut if ANYTHING that looks like practice squad potential is needed. They signed Ethan Pocic, who can actually make the roster.

Pavia's agent now has his legal team working feverishly to file a lawsuit seeking to have a Nashville judge award him an additional year of eligibility so he can return to Vanderbilt and continue his career as a professional college football player

Huntley is going into his 7th yr in the NFL, has played in 30 NFL games, and probably is liked by the team since he's spent most of his career there. Pavia wasn't even a coveted udfa.

Off the top of my head, I can think of a couple of heisman winners that might not have made it (Eric Crouch, Jason White)
