This was just a stay of the injunction. The next hearing hasn't been scheduled yet. They aren't off the hook for cheating.

The judge specifically forbade the LHSAA from taking the issue before the executive committee in BR

That only keeps the case in a New Orleans court. The school certainly thinks there will be another hearing.

Somebody lied to you, bro. All of the evidence was just word of mouth and hearsay from disgruntled coaches and parents of students who wanted spots on the team.
Oh, also parents and coaches of their former teammates, salty that their bluechip, superstar left them behind to attend Newman.

The article mentioned that out of a 100 page report, 50 pages were unreadable? It’s 2024. Type that shite

None of these kids are “blue chip superstars”, ftr. They are better than your average 2a/3a team but They’ve been eking by their competition lately, unless Catholic New Iberia is a powerhouse I wasn’t aware of. I doubt Cenac or Birden envisioned scoring 2 and 3 ppg when they were lured over and promised the moon by Randy.Todd jones is their best player and while he’s a D1 prospect, Duke and UNC aren’t knocking on his door.
NO metro area in general doesn’t produce a lot of true basketball stars. Who was the last one, Greg Monroe ?

quote:really good player for a recent public school football team did the same thing.
So why should private school kids who move out of district keep eligibility?
This is one of the few legit complaints the publics have.

LHSAA has been pretty toothless the last few years.
If this stands, they may as well close the doors and reopen as a brand new organization.

This will get real interesting.

There was a period there in the 90's where several were produced. But Greg Monroe may have been the last true star.

I wonder if this will have any affect on the convention coming up next week. Word is LHSAA wants everything back together. If they let Newman get away with this then, they probably won't get the support from the public schools to put it back together. I also heard they want class b and C to be separated like they should be but they have to let the private schools in. Hackberry principal is pushing this big time. He is a class c Rep. Back to Newman have seen them play a couple of times not impressed.Great size skill level is not that good.Guard play is weak. If you are gonna cheat you better get the bigtime players. Coaching is not that great either,Randy needs to step up his game. If Fitz had this talent he would have never lost.

Not ever going to happen

They’ve wanted it back together since 2013 and it’s not going to happen. Could have happened for 5A a couple of years ago but after the Catholic and BM sanctions the behind the scenes efforts of several publics killed it.

Lured over and promised the moon? Why would R. Livingston have to lure or promise any kid anything? Especially a black kid who wants to make it to the NBA.
All of Louisiana knows Livingston's story. Grew up in the hood, transferred to Newman, blew out his knee and still went on to LSU, and then to the NBA.
Who else would a kid want to play for, if their dream is to go the league? Maybe for a coach who played in the league himself? Also a coach who looks like them, talks like them, comes from a similar background.
