Sorry!! Randy Livingston.

Newman's coach that got busted for recruiting and playing ineligible kids, and had to forfeit all their games the past three seasons? That Randy Livingston?

That’s next week, and they’ll probably settle out of court with Livingston serving his one year suspension and after that being on strike 2… one more and he’s out

There was a strike one?

Strike one, I believe he is referring to, was a suspension for commenting on officiating to the media.

It is a lot worse than just a suspension. From what I heard, don't be surprised if Livingston, the AD, and/or the head of school get fired. The school will take years to recover from the media hit they are going to take.

Don’t think he’ll settle. He’s too pompous. And settling means Newman has to admit to their community that they did something wrong. They claim they’ve done nothing

Heard from rumor or good source. Were AD and principal part of the paying, cheating, etc or did Randy act alone?

Heard from a great source that the cheating was a lot worse than what has been published so far. The LHSAA has evidence that would be considered worse than lack of institutional control if it were a college. There's no plausible deniability for what they did.

LHSAA might show damning evidence, which would hurt Newman, but I don’t think there’s much chance they win a ruling in a NOLA courtroom
Hence they’ll settle which is in Newman’s, Livingston’s, and their’s best interest. They’ll all get to spin the story the way they want. Do we really think the richest school in the LHSAA will get hammered?

Don’t see that happening. If Randy were willing to settle, he would have taken the suspension and not filed suit in the first place.
Also don’t think settling is in Newman’s best interest. Unless they are exonerated, firing Randy is the only way they save face.
And will the richest school get hammered? Maybe. If LHSAA realizes they should, that they need to set an example that we have rules and that money doesn’t let you out of those rules.

They didn't just import basketball players and illegally house them.
I don't think the LHSAA will lose and neither do the people involved.

I spoke with someone who said that a very prominent football family from New Orleans is involved and when it all comes out they will not look good.

The LHSAA case only involves basketball. The football team did import linemen and receivers from out of state. The Mannings also hired their own offensive coordinator for Arch, but, the Mannings aren't involved in this situation.

Arch did play on some of those basketball teams though

The person I talked to said the Mannings weren't involved in this LHSAA case, and I haven't called Archie or Cooper to ask them directly.

If true, should Newman be concerned? When you open yourself up, seems like they’ll look into more things

How were they involved?
