He likely has family connection to PR then. Like his parents or grandparents were likely from there.

But from Caddo and Boosier Parishes of all places in Louisiana I am surprise that the Puerto Rican wasn't remove from him there

Maybe he is doing it not out of pride but to further his career

This is a Louisiana board. I understand why you don't give a frick.

What I don't understand is why I don't give a frick.

One of his parents was born in PUR. That's all it takes to play for them. To play for a team, you have to had been born in that country, one of your parents born in the country, or eligible for citizenship in the country.

Or in Israel's case, you just have to be Jewish

It was said that they weren't but Israel just let any ole' Jew on the team.

In this case, Lugo likely has family ties. Manny Machado was American born but said he wanted to play for Dominican Republic to honor a family member.

ETA: Dominican Republic actually...I shouldn't be too fast with my posts.

Fun fact for everyone. Israel has a law called the law of return. It basically lets all Jews be eligible for citizenship. That's how that worked.

Same reason Freddie Freeman played for Canada. (honored Canadian mother who recently passed away.)

That' what makes the WBC interesting. And it's also why there is no reason to take it too seriously...and not taking it to seriously makes it more fun and interesting.
Americans were playing for teams all over the world: Netherlands, Italy, etc.

Sorry, Grandpa CheesyJokes, message board segregation was outlawed by emperor Reagan. Even before message boards were a thing. What a true visionary.
