Is what it is. I don’t discuss politics online because I don’t have the time or inclination for the strife but mainly because my own views can’t be pigeonholed with any one label. I range from Genghis Khan to Leon Trotsky and multiple points in between.

Could you have caught him on a bad day or days? Can you imagine never being left alone? How would you react?

I sure as shite wouldn't come across as the nicest guy all the time.

And just today ESPN is reporting that the league is reviewing whether he should remain banned

Considering he is dead they should put him in the hall already

If they just put him in then no one will talk about it anymore.

I wouldnt say I view him positively but i also know he belongs in the hall.

It's supposed to recognize great baseball players regardless of their off field stuff.

Ah well, the hall is a joke anyway without Barry Bonds while guys like Harold Baines are in.

CC sabathia being in while clemens isnt is also absurd

I knew when I was a little kid that players betting on games in baseball was against the rules and would lead to what happened to rose. He knew what could happen but did it anyway. There is no reason for him or anyone else to be mad about it. I guess some folks think rules and laws don’t apply to them.

There's a reason Tony Perez, Johnny Bench and Joe Morgan hated him.

I don't see how any of these dots are connected.

Let’s extend this logic to society… give the congressional medal of freedom to Jeffery Epstein and Jerry Sandusky. Yes, in the context of baseball and what it does to the sport, this is similar.

Pete doesn’t sign that he’s banned from baseball if he isn’t caught dead to rights doing something he wasn’t supposed to

Good, Pete Rose's legacy needs to be restored, penalizing people for betting on themselves is the most nonsensical idea I can conceive

If you bet on yourself that means you are going to be trying to win

That means you are at odds with the leagues fixing of games themselves

Totally agree.

Outside of being a great baseball player he has very few if any redeeming qualities as a human being. I would not believe a word coming out of his mouth and I don't believe for one second he only bet on his team.

Ironically, the man whose hit record he broke in Ty Cobb may be the only human baseball player (Bonds may be in the conversation) that might be more reprehensible - IMHO!
