That, and the entire article is the typical yahoo bleeding vagina male progressive passive aggressive bullshite whining with anonymous sources that discuss something that may not happen.

The normal suspect then enter and seethe rage over something they know nothing about.

They can't tell you what a fricking woman is, but they know everything about everything. It is amazing to watch.

You know there’s this whole NCAA vs House settlement thing going on?

No. She has no clue. But these mindfricked liberals never, EVER miss a chance to take a shot (SWIDT?) at trump. It’s insane

The last time a president got involved in college athletics, the result was the NCAA.

ETA: for my friend The RouxGuru

https://www.thesportshistorian.com/teddy-roosevelts-role-in-the-creation-of-the-ncaa/
It was Teddy Roosevelt in 1905. There were multiple things in football, in particular, that needed addressing. Many were related to safety, but there were also issues of ethical conduct. It included things like players switching schools, sometimes mid-season, alumni paying players under the table, admitting players who did not qualify academically, creating classes just for football players, and teachers giving players grades so the would remain qualified to play.

Care to tell us what was going on with college athletics before that?

You have to offer some context. Just throwing out a ‘headline’ like that isn’t telling the whole story

But you knew that already

You people are so clueless and controlled. Do you realize how much criminality is involved with NIL? The entire situation is becoming its own underworld.

I can edit it. I'll have to brush up on the details, but it was mostly about the safety of football players. Concerns about players dying and being crippled due to impacts related to the flying wedge if memory serves.

Give me examples. I am not being obtuse, I really do want some details because I am not aware of the criminality involved.

There’s different aspects to it. NIL isn’t required to be open about their donations and deals, meanwhile fans are now being bilked for donations to a shadowy situation with no oversight or rules which opens the door for all kinds of illegality. In a more specify example some of these big donors are recouping expenses, using players in that regard.

This is one thing that needs to be addressed, but it is difficult to do it state by state. Especially when state legislators seem hellbent on passing laws to help their state school do whatever they want without regard to college sports as a whole or their constituents(like a Louisiana legislator proposing we not tax NIL income). If there is a real place for federal involvement, that may be it.

I'm not following exactly what that means, but the potential for illegality is not only there but seems likely with the way things are always handled in the shadows.

Thanks for the answer.

That’s a great point, programs seem to favor viewing it as just a competitive situation and want to ignore the pitfalls because of the money these teams generate. Tying it back to government or Trump, the NCAA was neutered by a court decision though I’m not saying they’re innocent. They’ve bought in the same way the programs have but they are powerless. It’ll take government to undue or add to basically a free for all situation. As far as the statement you asked about, understand I can’t give a name but I’ll direct you to look online for gambling scandals and wire fraud cases in college sports since NIL came into play. These stories aren’t getting national headlines but you can find them if you look online.

Exactly… he’s not going to work his arse off to get bama or LsU an edge while screwing Auburn. He wants what’s Best for college football and the fans .

I didn't realize how liberal the MSB is according to the DV's... compared to the most of the rest of the boards on this site.

This is 100% my fear because they're the reason this college sports has become a complete circus.

The one thing that I need to finally help me completely divorce myself from any joy related to college sports is a presidential commission.
Total political points play.
I voted for the man twice but I gotta admit he’s a two bit Huey P Long wanna be.

I mean…how would the MSB react if Obama said he was going to get involved in college sports when he was president?

If what was going on right now was going on back then, many here would welcome it.

But nice attempt on the gotcha I guess

that’s bullshite and you know it.

It’s not a gotcha, just try being honest. …people tolerate government over reaching when it’s their side doing it.

Teddy Roosevelt helped found the NCAA, dipshite. Trump is right to get involved to save college athletics from being destroyed.
