I think you’re giving the titans org too much credit, they would’ve aired that would when they were getting drug for firing him. There’s some bad blood there’s if they knew, they would’ve leaked that years ago.

It’s pretty obvious what led to Vrabel being let go at Tennessee and it ain’t Russini

What's obvious?

And why would the Titans air that if they weren't 100% certain? They'd open themselves up to a lawsuit if they were wrong.

I mean, all the signs are there. Timelines match up too. Might be two divorced couples here before long

Didn’t even make it to his second year before becoming a massive frick up.

You can hate on Bill and Tom all you want but at least they had already deeply carved their names into Pats’ legacy before their ‘gates’ scandals, which made it much easier for the faithful to rally in support.

One first-season-miracle run to lose a SB is not enough inertia to carry this buffoon past this in NE - and the locker room will be shaky, too.

Will have zero surprise if the Pats jump on the ol’ inexorable downward curve,

And I say this as a Pats fan…

Honestly, I doubt it. Ben Violin of the Boston Globe is reporting their affair has been known in certain circles for a while. If this has been going on for six years a lot of people knew. And it’s loud now, but won’t be by the time the season starts. I doubt the locker room gives two turds that he cheated on his wife. A good portion probably already knew about it.

How can you call yourself a Patriots fan and want to dump the HC to immediately took them from picking in the top 5 to the Super Bowl over what will be a total non-issue amongst the players? Are you so naive to think young, wealthy, peak athletes aren't fooling around with MANY women themselves? The players don't care about this as probably more than a few are doing or have done the same thing.

Oh, the national media and Jets or Bills fans are bad-mouthing NE. WHO CARES? They were going to do that anyway. The only thing that TRULY matters is winning and, by virtue of that, keeping the customers (i.e. fans) happy. As long as Vrabel continues to win the fans will be happy.

I'm seeing claims on twitter that the more plugged in Titans fans knew/speculated about this for years

There’s been vast and deep reporting on the subject and evidence wide open to the public as to what lead to his firing

There was an internal power struggle. His GM got fired and they didn’t pick somebody he wanted to replace him. He didn’t want to trade brown, they traded him anyway. He was clearly pissed and made it pretty vicious and even hinted at it and took a shot at ownership during his patriots hall of fame induction which pissed the titans off even more. They fired him, then have had 2 cycles of different front offices/head coaches in the short span since that happened. They had another injury shortened season, they wanted him to make staff changes, he told them to frick off and they cut him

It’s not like the titan would hold a press conference to say it happened, they would use their own mouthpiece sources to hint at it and let everyone take it from there

He’s really lucky that last season went so well for the Pats. I think that will allow him to get through the offseason with job intact.

I didn’t know anything about her until this story broke. On one hand, you’d think Vrabel could do much better for a side piece but probably more a matter of convenience. Also knowing she wouldn’t leak any info.

I bet the Titans leaked everything.

I think this is an exaggeration. Yes, many players are, but lots of them are also decent and upstanding guys. I’m willing to bet Vrabel also preached a different sort of message to the team during the year, making him a hypocrite. I think lots of players that cheat aren’t necessarily walking around acting like they are morally superior and preaching to their teammates.
