So then how should anyone support UF Football given the fact that Aaron Hernandez was convicted of murder and Urban Meyer always knew he was a bad apple?

....Did the University of Florida and Urban Meyer hear of Aaron Hernandez committing murder and then did their best to cover it up?

I think they were dragged through hell and back. Its pretty well documented and killed their legendary coach. It was horrific and disgusting but they have to move on.

Side note: It's pretty crazy how well they are playing this year and the ability to recruit hasn't stopped them one bit.

They deserved it and covered for him. Their legendary coach was a legendary piece of shite who put innocent kids in jeopardy by not turning in his pedo friend and coach.

frick Joe Pa. I hope he's rotting in hell saving a spot for Sandusky.

If there is hell I am pretty sure they are all rotting in it. I agree with you from that perspective.

Again, Paterno notified the police when this information was reported to him. I don't know why people continue to ignore this fact.

The ginger went to the cops, not paterno. McQueery saw it and told paterno, who then said it was the second time he heard of it.

I've never seen anything that says paterno directly told police. Campus police doesn't count. If he truly cared, he wouldn't have stopped until Sandusky was behind bars.

He didn't notify the police. He notified his bosses and not until a few days later because he "didn't want to ruin anyone's weekend".

He's a football coach not a detective. You need to let the authorities to do their jobs.

A football coach who knew what Sandusky was doing and let him keep doing it.

He doesn't need to personally investigate and arrest him, but he did nothing.

He knew since 1976. frick him.

This is the equivalent saying why support A because of B, when C did D (which is not the same as B).

In other words your analogy is terrible and you should be ashamed.

Franklin has really done an AMAZING job with everything that has gne on and still has put A great team on the field.................

He has done a great job. That’s true. He was uniquely qualified for the job considering his past experience handling a rape crisis.

This is the shite that drives me crazy. The NCAA falling back on their punishment.

quote:

The NCAA said Tuesday that it will reduce the unprecedented sanctions against Penn State's football program by gradually restoring scholarships starting next season. Officials did not rule out future modifications, such as reducing the four-year postseason ban.

If no new information came to light, then the punishment doled out initially should have been adhered to. I don't care about "good behavior" or anything else.

frick the NCAA, frick Penn State.

Too much money to lose...
Not about good behavior, or anything else. Its the money, same as today for any other program.

The money generated by the football program allowed a child molester to operate relatively openly for decades.

How can anyone support that program? I know nobody there currently was a part of their disgusting past, but how do they just dismiss it and support a university with that past?

The problems of Penn State in terms of football were really non existent. They did not violate recruiting rules , Paterno from a program integrity standpoint, ran the program properly and made sure his coaches ran it properly.

Penn State's problems were of criminal violations not necessarily football related other than a long retired assistant was buggering boys and Paterno did not follow up on the incidents. The players were not involved in any bad behavior then or now

Don't get me wrong, Sandusky was scum and deserves to rot, but I don't blame the football program per se

I am, like others, taken back a little at the defense of PSU as an institution and its fans. Amazingly, the sentiment was way different even 4 years ago. PSU not getting the DP basically means no team should ever get the DP. If I'm Ole Miss, I'm definitely asking the NCAA what they have a bigger problem with - pedos or woman of the night/paying players. That may be the only thing out of my mouth.
