Penn State's problems were of criminal violations not necessarily football related other than a long retired assistant was buggering boys and Paterno did not follow up on the incidents.

Dude. Dude.

Paterno from a program integrity standpoint, ran the program properly and made sure his coaches ran it properly.

If LSU position coaches are running a huge drug cartel out of BR and Ed O says something to Joe Alleva because he saw one of them transporting kilos of coke and Joe Alleva never does anything about it and Ed O never does another thing about it - Ed O would be a POS. Allowing a pedophile to stay on staff while having nothing to do with Xs and Os has got to be top 3 worst things a coach could possibly allow to happen.

If this happened at LSU I would still support LSU, just not anyone involved with the teams in question.

Easy.

The problems of Penn State in terms of football were really non existent. They did not violate recruiting rules , Paterno from a program integrity standpoint, ran the program properly and made sure his coaches ran it properly.

Them covering up that reprehensible behavior for as long as they did says more about them as people than anything else ever could. They're scum, and they deserve the worst.

do you think it says something about the kids that were recruited and eventually went there after all of this came out?

It's surprising that some would commit to go into that situation, but no, those kids didn't do anything wrong. That being said, giving them scholarships back should have never happened so some of them shouldn't even be there right now.

I think it shows that they don't give a shite.
A scholarship is a scholarship, and they were going for the money.

The fact that they recovered so quickly with their performance last year and this year makes the NCAA look even worse. We're what, a couple years out? And Penn State football is the best it's ever been in the B1G. That's not ok.

Bama fans on this site had the weirdest white knight syndrome when it came to Paterno during that whole scandal. I couldn't figure it out.

What Penn State did is so much more disgusting/disturbing/wrong/pick your adjective than anything Bama could do or does from a cheating standpoint that it's not even in the same universe.

So if Penn State football sucked you wouldn't mind? What does their success have to do with how you feel about the punishment?

Yes and even with scholarship sanctions they were still able to build a deep team.

Just saying, that the kids that go there don’t care

Agreed completely.

I just don’t think this cult like atmosphere is only at Penn State

They deserved the death penalty. They basically had no punishment and it's like it never happened. The media completely ignores it.
