I'm with you. That whole community turned a blind eye to child rape because of football. Disgusting really.

Well Baylor thought rape was perfectly acceptable.

If Penn State didn't do anything wrong then why did Penn State have to shell out $60 million dollars?

Penn St is an intangible thing, it's a school. A school doesn't sexually assault someone.

Human beings who worked for Penn St did wrong. THose human beings no longer work for Penn St.

If this happened at LSU and LSU cleaned house and got rid of all the key individuals responsible, give me 1 single reason why I should stop supporting LSU?

Penn State should have got the death penalty. The most disgusting and despicable cover up in the history of sports. Two decades of covering up pedophilia and they get a slap on the wrist. Then they go and hire James Franklin who covered up for rapists on his VAndy team. God almighty. frick Penn State and enjoy getting the doors blown off Saturday.

Read the BWI Forums. After you finish vomiting over what they spew there get back to me.

There are human beings on the Penn State board of trustees that are despicable human beings and that have beliefs concerning Paterno, Sandusky and Penn State that would make you physically ill.

Until that university competely dissasociates itself from those types of individuals and until those individuals no longer have enough support from Penn State people to be in those positions I will continue show disgust with that university.

So then how should anyone support UF Football given the fact that Aaron Hernandez was convicted of murder and Urban Meyer always knew he was a bad apple?

Every program has the right to clean house and start over. And Penn State has produced a lot of great people including athletes just like every other school in the US.

Why didn't you call out Zombie, who went down the political road first?

Fwiw, this is not an excuse for them, that's pretty bad...but I'm about 100% certain any big name program with a big/diehard following would have a similar contingent of fans pledging a blind allegiance.

I have very little doubt about that. It speaks to the nature of sports "fanatics"

False. Many fans, coaches and players of other teams in the region (some of your OSU brethren included) that played against or otherwise dealt with Paterno still have a great deal of respect for the man and everything he achieved during his life and career.

Minus the bitter Pitt fans of course.

You're right. There are Ohio State people that think Tressel is a god.

I don't. I believe that if you preach character, honesty and integrity (basically what his book was about) then you had damned well better be living it. Although I appreciate a lot of what Tressel did for the university I've lost respect for him at the same time.

Because I replied to the last post.

Zombie is dumb too. This board is full of people who shoe horn politics into places where they don't fit. It's annoying as frick.

Don’t people still wear Paterno masks to the games and dress like him?

I would be fine with Penn State cleaning house and starting over after they were given the death penalty and football was shut down for three years. Instead, the NCAA let them off easy which is infuriating. With how quickly Penn State has been able to recover, it was basically a small bump in the road.
