Honest question, are overall eyeballs down for the nba? I know TV ratings are down a lot, but do these numbers take into account streaming at all?

I know these numbers are devastating to the networks, just trying to gauge the lack of interest in the NBA. I know I haven’t watched a game this year and I don’t think I watched any last year, but I know there are lore ways to watch than ever before.

The woke sports board will claim that COVID restrictions cause people to not turn on the nba but also the lifting of the restrictions will cause people to not watch the NBA. It most certainly is not the nba politics.

By the way didn’t March madness have exceptional ratings?

It's happened with Youtube TV too and what's worse is when my "local" teams, Memphis, NO and Atl, play on NBA TV they get blacked out. I know they have existing contracts but it's totally counterproductive for building regional interest.

I know it's a bit of a segway, but I bought MLB TV (not for the local teams) and I can't even watch the Rangers nor Astros on that because of local blackouts even though I don't get either in my cable subscriptions. Things like this and Sinclair are stupid

The China stuff was what did it for me. The other political crap was just the icing on the cake. Will never actively pursue any NBA content as far as I can tell.

This. When you endorse a murderous regime yet tell me I'm the bad guy, I'm done paying attention.

The NBA started shooting itself in the foot back with the straight-to-NBA days. For every Garnett and Kobe, there were ten Darius Miles and Korleone Young. Players need to go to college ball, not just to actually develop their game, but to develop their marketability. Sorry, but it's true.

These guys who play one year at Florida State, get drafted after scoring 10 points a game...I'm sorry, but long-term that isn't helping anything but their own families. For a union organization, it's surprisingly foolish, as well. Veterans, inevitably, are having shorter careers than they used to have to make room for some 20-year-old who can't really contribute for a couple of years.

The most well known player has a very unlikable personality. Not a great recipe for viewership.

I like so many used to love the NBA. Now it sucks. I read stats recently stating that 3 pointers account for over 40 percent of shots taken for many teams. Every year now the games are becoming 3 point shooting contests. Watching this style of basketball is not appealing to me and I'm sure many others. Throw in the whole "Woke" thing and SJW branding and the whole thing reeks. You couldn't pay me to go to an NBA game. The 70's and 80's league is long dead.

One of the main reasons the ratings suck is because of the product they put out.... it’s basically playground basketball from the streets in any major city.

I think another issue as well to add onto everything else is the shitshow that is Sinclair Broadcasting. They started removing a lot of their providers, so a lot of people don't get the local Fox Sports stations.

This. I watched almost every Hawks game before Sinclair screwed us over. Now I see them whenever they're on ESPN or a replay on NBATV.

Why do they care about Americans anymore? It's a Chinese league now. Enjoy your new fans.

The NBA was such a better viewing experience when it featured the post up game.

Whole lot more to it than that but that’s part of it...

The Merc Era of the NBA is a bigger deal than any BLM message.

Red blooded fans of franchises are probably sick of players whining their way out of franchises to team up for super teams. The parity is garbage. The bad teams are truly horrific. As in, no real chance unless the A team is taking it easy for a mini rest.

The NFL has more parity. Hell. Maybe college as well. Upsets far more likely.

The NBA is a long season of boring arse BS where stars constantly sit out games.

There’s no real hate between teams like the 80s and 90s.

The only NBA worth watching is the playoffs and even that is becoming watered down. 3-point barrages are just plain boring.

It will not hurt their TV deal because the media, the government, the corporate sponsors, and the NBA/MLB/NFL are all in this INSANITY together.

I agree. It's become a glorified AAU league. Owners are seen as racist oppressors and everyone has to bend the knee to the biggest superstars. I'm okay with to an extent, but players have abused it. I'm not a fan of players, I'm fans of teams first.

Kinda hard when one of the broadcasters says point blank that Jacob Blake was unarmed.

The biggest face of the league and the league itself hates white people, so why should I, a white person, tune in to watch?

Adam Silver is a cuck that lets Lebron run the league then I have coaches like Pop and Kerr that call me a piece of shite basically so yea, good luck NBA.

It’s a shite product. 2 maybe 3 teams have a shot to win.

I spend $40 a month league pass and have not watched a single non-Pels game the entire season.
