On this - it's just become such and ingrained part of the narrative that most buy it...the media sure has.....ESPN for certain..without even looking at it in context or questioning the actual logic of this.

What are you doing to guarantee our safety? Well, probably more than any other entity or organization in your life. Probably safer than going to the grocery store on your cousin's birthday BBQ , are screwing girls who've been who knows where or pretty much anything in general you might be doing if you were not in this protocol with access to medical staff 24/7, constant testing and any number of steps to help prevent contracting this and if you do, diagnosing it and quarantining you immediately so that you don't spread it to other, specifically at risk loved ones, etc.

Football players should swap spots with baseball players for a year. They’d quickly realize how great they have it.

This has been coming for a long time in college athletics and the athletes are finally realizing the leverage they have.

Meh, they will find people to play football. I really don’t care if it’s world class athletes or legit college students playing. Find the best athletes that actually want to play for what is offered. Let the ones that don’t want to play pay for their own college, food, housing and medical care.

They're going to learn a hard lesson that college sports fans are fans of teams/schools and not individual players. In other words, they're going to find out that they're easily replaceable.

Not as much as you think. Competition for an athletic scholarship is high. You don't like the terms, the next kid will. I'm sure that player at Eastern Washington would rather be at Oregon State.

It’s a real world problem going on now ... your social media can get you fired and in this case, let go off a team.

They want big time concessions, they better get used to having a lot of restrictions.

They should just allow walk-ons. It's not like PAC-12 football could really compete with the other major conferences before this anyway.

Call their stupid fricking bluff. Cancel the scholarships, cut off the boosters, tell them enjoy the street corners and the 9mm slugs

Time to get the women's sports turned against them. Because of Title IX, this would kill all of collegiate athletics.

When football removes 85 scholarships in the switch to revenue sharing. Women's athletics lose 85 scholarships because all of their sports lose revenue. In fact, women athletes may be asked to pay or help seek sponsorships for their teams.

These selfish demands have far reaching unintended consequences. They clearly have not thought of those or do not care.

If they are paid for playing then there should be no more scholarships, they should have to pay for coaching, training room and equipment and pay for meals, travel etc. nothing is for free.

But this really comes down to them trying to get paid. The Covid and racial injustice stuff is just convenient cover to try to get moral high ground.

I would rather see all college sports shut down for a few years until this passes than to see the colleges get extorted for allowing these kids to play sports and attend college for free

Also if the PAC 12 gets kicked out of the NCAA for doing these things, there will be no more TV contracts as no one will care or be watching, no playoffs, tournaments or bowl game revenue. They will all go athletically broke as the revenue will die

So fricking stupid. Only revenue sports are football and men’s basketball. Those two bankroll all athletic departments. That revenue basically supports Title 9. You pull from that revenue you can say Goodbye to all women’s collegiate sports.

Literally the inmates running the nut house. No risk, free education and all reward. The best HS players would get killed in the NFL. No way they can make a jump like that. Bottom line: the players has no demands. Go to school and play or go home! They’ll never be able to get the training and the coaching to jump to the next level unless they go to college. That’s a fact.

I think it’s time for the ADs of the respective institutions threaten to take away their scholarships.

frick that. All the AD's have to do is say they can't risk the players health and safety. Therfore, due to Covid 19, we cannot guarantee the players 100% safety. So we cannot move forward and have a season. BAM players have zero leverage.
