Yeah, race horses are treated terribly. :roll eyes:

Do you think vaccines are inhumane because the are administered with a needle?

The point is to hurt the horse? Now we know Rex never had a horse. And why he hates Ann Romney.

I don't think beating the frick out of my dog would make it run faster.

I don't think whipping the horses hurts them very much.

But what about all the innocent oats and hay these evil horses eat every day? Murderers!

So why is dog racing illegal in most states? Why can I buy a cow and slaughter him for a nice burger, but not buy a wiener dog and enjoy it on the grill on a beautiful Sunday afternoon? It is simple hypocrisy. We only care about the animals we want to care about. For the record, I am one of the hypocrites. I'm just simply pointing it out. To the guy calling me a liberal, LOL. I guess there is a first for everything

Avg rave horse idls 1250 pounds. About the size of a small car. If y really think a whip hurts a horse u r an idiot.

Plus when horses are hurt they shut down they don't run faster

Do you not know how these horses are cared for? They have it made. And they are loved by their owners and trainers.

More whip on Smarty Jones and he would have won the triple crown. Jockey eased up at the last turn and .... birdstone flew by.

So, you're saying Smarty Jones wasn't beaten enough for profit?

Just looked it up... yes, the whips were changed in 2009 because the leather straps were breaking skin. The new replacement whips (euphemistically called "crops" these days) are less cruel but still can break skin and sometimes do.

If you're going to complain about anything related to horses, complain about blinders.

I had to take a crop to my horse today. He was being bad and is much bigger than me and could kill me. I just tapped him, though, to reinforce my leg and get a little bend. Am I horrible and abusive?

Like, literally just tapped him behind my leg. He got the picture and corrected himself.
