It’s just silly, the cost is for catering to rich douchebags and not the fans who end up footing the bill.

Great looking arena. Pathetic skyline though.

Wrong. They have a renovated arena. Costly one, but not a new arena for arguments sake.

The only things left from the old key arena are parts of the original exterior walls and parts of the roof. It was fully gutted other than that.

OKC’s new arena will be more intimate, OKC Mayor David Holt said. Capacity will likely be in the 17,000s, down from 18,203 at Paycom Center.

The actual arena will be much larger by square footage. By 200,000ish square feet.

all that extra space and we’re losing seats when we already sell out the current one

I like the look though

Last place NBA attendance 2023: LINK

shite market. Move them back to Seattle as the SuperSonics. David Stern AAA minor league markets were a mistake.

Are they still building that 1,900 foot tower right next to it?

Somewhat related - looking at Jack Sikma 's stats earlier today, and one source actually had him listed as playing for OKC, before he went to Milwaukee.

It’s war. We have no choice but to nuke that trailer park.

FYI, David Stern is an idiot who should be permanently removed from the Naismith HOF.

Seattle is the best NBA market while OKC is the worst. Look at the statistics, and this is fact. Seattle set attendance precedents while tornado trailer park was DEAD F-ING LAST!!! In attendance recently!!!

So it appears as though they are gonna replicate the wall from Intuit Dome?

The new one will cost $1b and was approved by MAPS 4, our 4th major projects vote. Each MAPS doesn’t start until prior one ends. Everything is 100% paid for up front, one thing I like about our local city government. The owners pitched in $50m and citizens the rest, with guarantees team can’t be moved thru 2055 or later.

I won't be contributing towards that project. I live in Oklahoma and haven't been to OKC in over 5 years.

The only place I'd care to go to is Phoenix Hardwood there. It's a really nice hardwood lumber store.

It's odd that people care so much about aspects of a facility that have nothing to do with the event or game. As long as the seats are reasonably comfortable with good sight lines and there's enough restrooms, I'm good. I don't need to have "amazing!" views of the city I drive around and see every day. I don't need a crepe station or espresso bar. How about spending about half that amount and just give me a sports stadium or arena.

Why you talking out of your arse Snoop?

Key arena's capacity for basketball from '95 until the recent remodel was 17,072 (according to Wiki).

Attendance averages the last 9 years of the Sonics existence:

2005-06 16,198
2004-05 16,475
2003-04 15,399
2002-03 15,541
2001-02 15,452
2000-01 15,630
1999-00 15,018
