Chet is too good for summer league

Hell, Giddey as well. I know some of the shots didn't fall but he was getting wherever he wanted to go on the court

Should we start a Summer League Thread? I can put one together in the morning

I agree with you on the injury problems. The Warriors just got fully healthy at the right time for first time in like 3-4 years. It could happen for the Lakers. I would worry about Davis making it more than anyone. He’s made it through one playoffs and it was the one after the huge COVID layoff. AND Lebron talked about how hurt AD was in those playoffs. I think he will just be hurt at worst time regardless of his age.

Klay had the rough summer in 2019 when he tore the ACL and Achilles but outside of that he’s not been injury prone.

LeBron is turning 38. This isn’t a get healthy at the right time thing for him anymore. He’s not the same player he was 3-5 years ago due to a big drop in athleticism. He plays awful defense and is a liability on that end of the floor now.

If he puts that up in the regular season, I'll eat my hat. Tacko Fall is a statue.

Yeah summer eague doesn't prove anything. Bol Bol has lit it up in the summer before but is essentially unplayable when the games count. Not saying that Chet won't live up to being a top pick, but the real NBA is a whole other animal.

In other news, the Magic signed him to a 2 year deal.

So yeah, just ecstatic over here.

I saw that Gallinari signed with the Celtics. Did the Spurs guarantee his whole deal(21M)? I thought it would only be 5M and they would have cut him right away. That is a lot of money to swallow.

Edit.. Nevermind. I saw that he had his guaratee bumped to 11M to facilitate the trade. So the Spurs saved about 10M.

Spurs still have like 50M in cap space. What are they going to do with it?

Klay Thompson did not have both of those injuries in one summer. He had the injury in the finals against the raptors in 2019 with torn ACL. He sat out all of 2019-2020 season, then tore his Achilles working out in Nov 2020. He finally returned to basketball in 2022. He was out 2.5 years. So again, the Warriors weren’t healthy in 3 years or more.

I agree that Lebron is not the same as he was. But he’s still a good enough player to win a championship. These three remaining healthy, if they are together, is unlikely though.

I haven't followed his career, I just remember everyone thinking he was a bust. People on RealGM seem to really like it as a flyer, think he's become a decent hustle player.
