You should look up the ages of the Boston Big 3 in 2008. It will blow your mind that they could even compete.

None of their guys were close to 38 years old, crazy like Kyrie, or made of glass like Anthony Davis.

The point was Kyrie and AD being 30-31 has no bearing on the outcome here. That’s a prime NBA age for championships. Lebron is better at 38 than any Boston Big 3 at that time.

They won’t win. But it won’t be because of age.

An injury prone 30 is different than a healthy 30-32 wouldn't you say?

If AD stops falling to the ground so much after attempting jumpers, he probably doesn’t have the injury history he has now.

This guy's health is scary. He's too big and his desire to get in shape is truly in serious doubt. A max deal is too much for this guy.
He rarely fricking plays!
I'll make the before/after season ending injury Christmas Day.
And I will scream it from the rooftops if I'm wrong.
I feel bad for the Pels. Alot of good going on down there.

Hawks will miss him. If they think Murray will pick up some of the slack from outside/3's they'll be very disappointed.

It's like he's been in the NBA as long as Todd Harris has been at LSU!

It seems like bullshite because Russ has negative trade value and supposedly the Lakers wouldn't give up their future first rounders
Pfft. Their future first rounders are so far away they're just rumors.

He was out of the league for 1.5 seasons and the Celtics signed him some time around the midpoint of this season. He will likely be cut and back out of the league again.

AD and Kyrie age has nothing to do with how injury prone they are. They will both likely not play at opportune times and both miss a ton of games and cause dramatic times that make a championship unlikely.

Their age ain’t really relevant though. Kyrie and AD have been just as hurt in early 20s. If these 3 are all healthy in the playoffs they will be a very tough out.

Sure it does. I wouldn't expect an injury prone 30 year old to be any "healthier" or recovery faster than say when they're 22.

Look at AD the past 4 years:
56
62
36
40

That's not a positive trend. if they're healthy, they're still top 20 players (all 3), but the gamble of being healthy is really risky.

Any franchise will take that risk in a heartbeat, With AD he's not constantly undergoing the knife. Always minor nagging stuff.

In the NBA playoff players drop like flies. 2019 finals both Clay Thompson and Durant went down for the count. Clay for 2 years. They just won the title again.

This past playoff, Joel Embiid (thumb, concussion) face fractured.

Khris Middleton (MCL) out. Big-time loss and kept the Bucks from trying to repeat.

Kyle Lowry couldn't stay on the court. Devin Booker pulled his hammy. Smart and Robert Williams were taking turns missing playoff games. Luka Doncic was fighting through injuries. To name just a few.

The Lakers aren't going to worry about Kyrie's injuries for 5 seconds.

I agree with you on the injury problems. The Warriors just got fully healthy at the right time for first time in like 3-4 years. It could happen for the Lakers. I would worry about Davis making it more than anyone. He’s made it through one playoffs and it was the one after the huge COVID layoff. AND Lebron talked about how hurt AD was in those playoffs. I think he will just be hurt at worst time regardless of his age.
