This is ridiculous and totally patronizing.
Instead, start an Academy for former players to go into coaching and front office positions. Players learn about coaching and being an executives from teachers who have done it. Once they have passed whatever the amount of time is, teams MUST take on players as interns once they graduate, unless the former player gets a job or internship with a college program.
This would give former players, most of whom will be minorities, foots in the door of all teams. Its up to them to prove themselves at that point.
Done.
Then teach everyone how to take my job?

A team would jump 10 spots under the same scenario for hiring a person of color as its primary football executive, a position more commonly known as general manager.
definition of racism

This is absurd.
If this is the kind of crap they implement, can you imagine what the other suggestions might have been. The ideas they passed on.
Can you imagine participating in these discussions?

Of course, because the ONLY reason they could have been fired is racism.

In addition, find a white RB, black kicker, and an asian WR and you get the first 10 picks the next year.

Just fire Goodell and give his job to a black dude.

The goal would be to simply improve the coaching, executive, and officiating (I omitted that but would include it) pool.
There are academies for other jobs. Teachers could be retired guys and media members. The real thing would be interns placed with teams. They have a chance to prove themselves. Their entry for a period of time is mandated, but after that they are on their own.

All of this.
The NFL is so fricking stupid.

basically having to be bribed to seriously consider hiring minority coaches is a staggering indictment of the nfl.

pro sports also has a huge problem for minority hiring that's really hard to correct -- the colossal advantage coaches' sons have in the job market. and since the coaches are already primarily white...you see how it goes.

The NFL is on an absolute roll right now and it’s like they asked someone, “What is the dumbest idea we can come up with?” Answer: “Well, we could reward teams better draft picks based on the race of the coach or GM.” NFL: Perfect! Let’s do it!”

I'll say this--if we're gonna criticize this idea (which is totally valid), we have to talk about what *might* work instead, and why the previous solutions haven't been effective.
And we gotta acknowledge the problem exists.

Packers already have something like this and it could easily be adapted league wide.

Green Bay Packers Head Coach Matt LaFleur has established a minority coaching fellowship, a yearlong, full-time position for young and aspiring minority coaches.

black long snappers are also an issue we need to talk about. Too many aspiring long snappers are being told by racist coaches they're more of an athlete and need to be playing tight end or defensive end

Why is it that corporations have lost the basic principal of hiring the BEST candidate for a role? I don’t give a shite their gender or race, whoever the best candidate is to position the organization for success.

A team would jump 10 spots under the same scenario for hiring a person of color as its primary football executive, a position more commonly known as general manager.
If a team were to fill both positions with diverse candidates in the same year, that club could jump 16 spots -- six for the coach, 10 for the GM -- and potentially move from the top of the third round to the middle of the second round. Another incentive: a team's fourth-round pick would climb five spots in the draft preceding the coach's or GM's third year if he is still with the team. That is considered significant because Steve Wilks and Vance Joseph, two of the four African-American head coaches hired since 2017, were fired after one and two seasons, respectively.
Insane. You'd literally be telling the world that hiring African Americans is so disadvantageous it's worth the equivalent of an extra 4th round pick.
