JFC.
If you are having to incentivize teams to hire these people, either the candidates aren’t very good or the team management doing the hiring is too stupid to make a good hire anyway.

And we gotta acknowledge the problem exists.
There we go.
It doesn't. End the discussion.

If a team hires a minority head coach, that team, in the draft preceding the coach's second season, would move up six spots from where it is slotted to pick in the third round. A team would jump 10 spots under the same scenario for hiring a person of color as its primary football executive, a position more commonly known as general manager.
What kind of stupid arse affirmative action bullshite is this?

Minority Head Coaches and Executives cannot possibly support this.
This should piss them off more than anyone

All 8 of them?
Most people’s pride drops off well before the point of being offer an extremely rare and well paid position like an NFL GM/HC job

I’m eagerly awaiting J Hill’s take on this.

That is considered significant because Steve Wilks and Vance Joseph, two of the four African-American head coaches hired since 2017, were fired after one and two seasons, respectively.
How come they didn't wanna add Hue Jackson to that list?

NFL to brown people, we think you aren't capable of achieving things on your own merit.

And all the other white head coaches who were fired after one year.
It’s just absurd logic that only black head coaches were fired after one year, and it was solely because they were black. Whereas, all these white head coaches, well just don’t mention these guys that were fired after one year.
It’s such a slap in the face to everyone, primarily minorities. I don’t often agree with Bomani Jones, but I do on this. How would anybody feel if they were told, “yea, we were incentivized to hire you, not necessarily that you were the best for the job.” What kind of lack of confidence does that send to the employee?

Sign me up if you’re paying me millions of dollars.

I would bet a ton of the people in this thread go into a job they hate everyday to get shite on by a boss they don’t like just so they can afford their mortgage in some suburb of their city every month But apparently this situation where someone is paying you millions to take a job that only 32 people in the world can hold is just “too insulting” for anyone to want to take advantage of it

What a ridiculous rule.
I’d hire a white coach and claim he’s black. What are they gonna do to prove he’s not black?

Just go all the way racist
If you hire a minority coach you start each game with a 3.5 point lead
