Eagles have been masters at not paying RBs and they go and do this. Major philosophy shift for them.

Seems like the running back market is much stronger this year, which is interesting.

The Philadelphia Eagles are signing free agent edge rusher Bryce Huff to a three-year, $51.1 million contract, according to a report from NFL insider Adam Schefter.

Yeah, that’s a lot more than I thought Saquon was gonna get. Good for him.

Another monster payday for Cousins, who gets $100 guaranteed — $90M in 2024 and ‘25, plus another $10M in 2026 — and a fresh start in Atlanta at age 35.

$100M guaranteed for a 35-36 year old QB coming off a torn Achilles has zero chance to backfire. None.

Mahomes had Hill and Kelce, now just Kelce and has still had success. Burrow had Chase and Higgins now just Chase(assuming they don’t run it back 1 more time). Elite QBs will make it work

How many times did Burrow make it work with Chase and Higgins? Mahomes has three rings, Burrow has zero. Right now you can not compare any active quarterback in the NFL with Mahomes. Mahomes has made it work. No other quarterback in the league has made it work. You do not have elite quarterbacks in the league right now. You have an elite quarterback in the league and he does not play for the Bengals. He plays for the Chiefs. You may have quarterbacks who can potentially become elite but there is only one in the league right now who has done it. (Rodgers doesn't count until we see what he looks like coming back from his injury and even he only has one ring.)

Is Kurt Cousin a elite quaterback?

Not in my book. Good to pretty good in certain games. But you can put players around him and he can be very effective. I still think the Falcons use a pick on a QB in the draft and develop for the future.

He was playing at an elite level last year before the injury. If he can fully recover, the Falcons will be fun to watch on offense

Good: It's not Justin Fields

Bad: It's a monstrous contract for a solid but not elite QB (although arguably just the going rate)

36 year old Kirk Cousins at that. Hilarious.

This is honestly less than I thought it would be

45M/ year seems about right given the big increase in cap this year and the hyperinflation of the QB market.

This places him as the 9th highest paid per year QB at the moment, which seems about right

The Giants are going to wish they didn't let him go. And the Eagles got it right and will be more than happy to remind them twice a year.

All this running back foolishness is just that. Barkley is a mismatch and will demand more attention than any back since Sean McCoy. Jalen Hurts will love him.

And Josh Jacobs to Green Bay suggests other playoff teams are seeing the light.

What does Minny do at QB now?

You would think that Chicago wouldn't want to deal them Fields unless its a truckload of picks.

(or maybe they want to go against him twice a year)

He went to the Eagles out of all people. Gonna be a lot of Saquon Barkley jerseys burning in New York.

Apparently Kirk Cousin’s neighbor and guy who shovels his snow says he’s going to Atlanta dude even has photographic evidence.

Now the tweet is deleted and his profile went private. If this is the way the news break that would be wild

Sounds like he was right.

I'm not sold on the Kirk Cousins deal. He is coming off of a devastating injury at an old age. There is no guarantee he will be able to come back from this injury. I wouldn't be worried about Cousins...at all.

Marino was 32 when he tore his and came back fine.

Maybe. But the dude is a MASH unit the last few years and seems to be suffering from Reggie Bushitis lately. Tries to break everything instead of getting the sure thing.

I think he’s closer to being mediocre than a truly elite player.
