This is the right move. Arthur wants to win now and there is no guarantee that a rookie would accomplish that. You have to pay to play.

He makes $45 MIL the next two years and then it goes down to 10 MIL in '26 and '27. So essentially it's a two year contract and it's spread out over four to lessen the hit.

Is Kirk even going to be ready to start the season?

This is honestly less than I thought it would be

45M/ year seems about right given the big increase in cap this year and the hyperinflation of the QB market.

This places him as the 9th highest paid per year QB at the moment, which seems about right

It's a market value.

Yeah, no. This is a dumb move for Eagles. RB has not been their issue at all. They had and Miles Sanders and D'andre Swift last 2 years who played great in the roll.

The issue is their offense doesn't highlight a feature back and they have a running QB who can't make all the throws.

They could have kept Swift for 7 mill a year, instead they get a guy who's always injured for 13 mill a year.

No guarantees Cousins will either. Old guy with one career playoff win coming off a blown Achilles. It seems like his teams should have won a lot more in Minnesota based on the numbers.

This is a major risk and I don't think there's the possibility of a major reward. A division title and a two TD home loss in the first round of the playoffs isn't a major reward, IMO.

How many times did Burrow make it work with Chase and Higgins? Mahomes has three rings, Burrow has zero. Right now you can not compare any active quarterback in the NFL with Mahomes. Mahomes has made it work. No other quarterback in the league has made it work. You do not have elite quarterbacks in the league right now. You have an elite quarterback in the league and he does not play for the Bengals. He plays for the Chiefs. You may have quarterbacks who can potentially become elite but there is only one in the league right now who has done it. (Rodgers doesn't count until we see what he looks like coming back from his injury and even he only has one ring.)

How do you think it would be if they switched organizations?

The upside case is you have 36 year old Kirk Cousins...

Better chance with Kirk than a JJ or Fields

You are aware it’s a team game right? Guess Bledsoe is better than Marino

Terrible take. Swift is not dominating the LOS anywhere. I know exactly why Detroit let him walk.

Barkley has been the best offensive player on a NY team that has had little else since he was drafted. That all changes, now.

So is drafting a QB and giving up a shitload of draft capital on a 50/50 proposition like you proposed last week. There is a whole lot more risk in that then this.

And I disagree in this. The only risk is his foot but that's a risk you need to take.

Because his defenses (the back 7) have sucked arse.

Dude the Falcons haven't won Jack shite in 6 years. They've been irrelevant. This move.makes them relevant and instantly makes them a playoff team. You need to crawl before you walk, bud. You can't have your cake and eat it too.

Not a bad move for Atlanta. It’s essentially a 2 year deal and they have most of the pieces to be very good those 2 years. I’m not against it. Now, let’s hope they can find a late round gem at QB that can be stashed and groomed.

But the dude is a MASH unit the last few years and seems to be suffering from Reggie Bushitis lately. Tries to break everything instead of getting the sure thing.

That's what he's literally always done in the NFL.

He’s lost a bit of a step though. So I think those games that would be 1,3,3,2,2………..85 are not as plentiful.
