I don't Amobi Okoye can really be considered a bust though can he? I mean he seemed to do pretty well and he even had a pretty shitty disease he was diagnosed with right?

I was always amazed watching Matt Jones run. Dude was a beast

Sometimes I wonder what his college career would have been like at WR. He made it look so easy when he actually tried hard. Wish he was born one year later so we could have had a year of him with McFadden and Jones.

Matt Jones pisses me off. Loved watching him play. Dude had the athletic ability to be a stud at 4 positions in the league. QB, DE/OLB, TE, RB and possibly as a monster safety. Dude was a freak.

Yeah but he could have been a fantastic player had he not let his personal vices get the best of him.
Jones could have been a star in the league but he just never cared. I think he was burnt out on football before he left college. I don't think the guy ever even wanted to be famous. He just didn't have that mentality that you have to have to be a professional. It's a shame because there are a lot of guys who would sell their soul to have his ability.

He wasn't a bust...but he never lived up to the combine hype...that dwarfed his college accomplishments. 35 Tds and 35 Ints...(which mirrored his pro career.)

Jeff George #1 overall.

He wasn't the top pick until being the first QB combine wonder who could throw the ball a mile ala JaMarcus years later.

How would you rate the passing skills demonstrated by Illinois quarterback Jeff George during recent workouts?

``I would rate him a 12,`` said the scout, one of two dozen or so who converged on the junior-eligible rookie combine in Indianapolis last weekend. George performed in front of 15 NFL scouts in Champaign last week.

His stock has risen so rapidly in the past several days the Atlanta Falcons now say they will make him the No. 1 pick in the April 22-23 draft.

Matt Jones was The Great White Hope and he fricked it up.

The opposite of this thread, players whose breakout combines shot them up the draft board - I doubt Dontari Poe would have been drafted before the fourth or fifth round had he not impressed everyone with his workouts. Ran a 4.98 forty at 346 pounds.

Chris Conley ran a 4.35 and broke broad jump and vertical record for WRs. Wouldn't really call him a bust, because he was still a 3rd round pick.

There's a reason his own coach passed on him. He was an incredible athlete, but he wasn't a good football player. He could lay the big hit but was horrible at coverage.

I remember back in 2009 the big debate about who was the better safety, Taylor Mays or Eric Berry?

Last I heard of him, he was possibly going to play football for Prattville Patriots and was starting bar fights at Dooley's.

Shortly after, I saw where he had a tryout for Carolina but apparently didn't make it, which surprised me.
