Major change: The NFL has modified the personal conduct policy, granting them the ability (if they choose) to investigate and take disciplinary actions against incoming draft prospects for incidents that may have occurred before a player enters the league.

Incidents such as Joe Mixon's case or the recent incident with Jalen Carter would now fall under this category.

This alteration could potentially impact the way teams approach drafting prospects.

@ProFootballTalk first noted the change.

Imagine getting suspend by a company that haven’t hired you yet?

That's not what this will get used for and everyone knows it.

Nope. Absolutely will not because then this too will end up being "racist".

I can see something like the former recruit QB from UF that sang a rap song being an example of what the NFL will choose to do with this authority. It will be hilarious too to watch the double standards.

"We find it disturbing Player X visited Stone Mountain with his family in 5th grade. There is no room in the NFL for that hatred and bigotry. Therefore, he is suspended for an entire season."

Makes sense now that the same corporations own college football and the NFL.

Most regular people never get near the background check NFL players do.

How far back will they go. Is it for their last year in college before they go into the league. Or will this go all the way back to when they were a young teenager.

I have no issue with this. I am fairly certain I could be fired from my job if it came to light that I had committed some serious infraction or reputation-damaging offense before I began working here.
