Brent Pry was 100% the guy up until he wasn’t. Which was a very last minute change when he tried to get UL to match what PSU offered to stay. Then Saban called and recommended Napier.
Napier IMO was the better candidate by every measure. But I wasn’t making the decisions.

Apparently some Sam Houston State fans think they've regressed under Deggs even though they made their first Super Regional and have won the regular season Southland every year except for one.

Big difference in winning the Sun Belt and the SLC. Win the Belt and you’re in a regional no worse than a 2 seed.

He made them a threat to be an at large bid every year. They were a good program before he got there, but I don't think they were to that level. That's a big deal in a conference that traditionally was a one bid league.
I think they're just trying to complain about something if they think he made them worse. Or they know he's on his way out and this is a sour grapes justification.
