Just announced on Twitter. Aptly put by a poster on the Cajun forum: "Welcome back Matt. Rest easy Coach Robe."

Very happy with this hire. Not only because of his skills as a coach but also because he will help continue to build on the foundation that Robe set By developing boys to become men

Great hire for ULL. I hope he continues to keep ULL rolling. Baseball is always more fun when ULL and Tulane are playing well.

This is an awesome hire. And it's very bittersweet. If there is anyone who can come in and continue the legacy that Robe built, it's Matt Deggs.

Welcome back, Coach!

Would he be a volunteer assistant? BJ Ryan shouldn’t need the money

I’m assuming Bab and either Wells or Talbot would stay on. Talbot and Deggs are tight from what I’ve heard

Wells would be a bit redundant I guess but I'm not sure. I think he's a very good hitting coach.

On the topic of Coach Deggs. Coach Robe wrote the foreword to Deggs' book 15 to 28.

Good lord. Right in the feels. I believe if Robe was around to pick his successor he'd pick Deggs.

The ULL AD is killing it. Regardless of his success this was the hire be needed to make and he made it happen.

I truly believe ULL could not have found a better fit and successor to Robe, then you add in the timing and its an absolute home run of a hire
Robe is smiling from above
