Perfect game against the Dodgers in July of '91.

I remember they were in the Wild Card race in July 2002 and they went after it by acquiring Bartolo Colon and Cliff Floyd before the deadline in a last ditch effort to go on a run, drum up some support and save the franchise in the city. I think injuries ended up costing them.

Basketball has become so popular in Canada and that area. In the finals you had Benn Mathurin and Lu Dort both from montreal.

I think an NBA team would do better in Montreal than an MLB team

Also olympic stadium is an absolute dump
and it was falling apart even back then…terrible stadium. The expos had a small fanbase relative to other teams but so do a lot of teams the saints included. The fans and the team were treated terribly all the way around…shithead owners and a league that didn’t stand up for them (the half season shite was deplorable)

The Canadian dollar holds up less than the American dollar so players would be taking a pay cut to play for them.

The Blue Jays conduct business in USD. All of the players are paid in USD. They do pay taxes in Ontario/Canada on the money earned there, so that could be an issue for them depending on Canadian tax laws.

That would have been the case for Montreal too, decided by the CBA

People will disagree but I find it weird Montreal had a franchise before many other big named American cities.

I find it weird they had a team at all.
