The school board voted six to zero to place Dr. Arlt on unpaid administrative leave following the three-hour closed meeting on Friday. The board said more information on how the district plans to move forward for the school year will be discussed at the next meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 12.

We also recognize the quick removal of his post and apologizing, while appreciated and appropriate, is not enough. As of February 5th, Dr. Arlt has been placed on unpaid administrative leave from Plainview Public Schools as we continue to discuss our response as a school board.
Nothing ever is. One day people will learn this.

If competition isn't up to snuff yet, those girls, wearing a very unflattering uniforms, are going to draw more gawks and sneers than cheers at those events.
Doesn't sound like a healthy compromise for anyone actually involved in the sport.

While possibly correct, why even put this out there? Also never apologize, it only emboldens.

just to clarify, if I agree with the superintendent, should I upvote the OP or downvote?
didn't know what we were doing in that regards

While I don’t live in NE, I do watch high school wrestling with my kids. Girls wrestling just became a varsity sport where I live. There are some girls that have been wrestling for years and are very good. At the youth level they match up really well with the boys. At the high school level there are a couple with elite technique that can hang with the boys.
I have seen a couple of girls that wrestle at the lower weights make it to the state tournament. The bigger girls have trouble matching the strength at the upper weight classes.
However, there aren’t enough girls to fill a team at most schools yet. I am waiting for the first coach to be fired for telling a girl that they need to drop a few lbs to compete for the team.

Girl wrestlers like Kristy Barnes have been kicking arse since the 90s just like she did to Valley’s Skipper Skolnik:
This dude sounds like a real Coach Sonski.

People should stop apologizing. It does absolutely nothing except make you look weak

There was no reason to apologize. Why can't people learn this lesson?

I dont find anything he said offensive and only find one thing inherently wrong with his statements. Ive coached girls xc/track for a while now. If youre waiting on there to not be tears and drama youre going to be waiting forever. That comes with the territory with girls sports. Its not sexist to say that it just is what it is and most girls i've coached would agree.

"I respect the opinion of those who feel different, and I hope you respect mine."
Apparently they do not.

Common sense has no place in Democratic and progressive controlled academia.

Clarify for me, are they talking about girls wrestling girls or girls wrestling boys?

We have a whole society of men who are scared to tell women the truth. They prefer to entertain their delusions.

Well, most probably want to keep their jobs.

It took them 3 hours to decide???? Wow.

Just to be clear, I don’t think the MSB is ready for a Prime Time Meme Thread of its own. The overall talent and understanding of the demands of shitposting is “emerging”, and that’s where the TD Mods should leave it. There is too much drama involving Laker Clap Threads, threads with mentioning a single obscure player, and bitching about Officials. Having said that, I know there are some pretty elite posters. But is the level of memes sustained well enough that we should blow up the Political Talk Meme Thread just so sports memes should be included? The MSB deserves a Meme Thread of its own to create its own traditions. I respect the opinions of those who disagree with me, and I hope you can respect mine.

What was he trying to accomplish by posting this? Just a dumb decision. Regardless if he is correct. Should be put on leave for being an idiot.
