He should never be allowed to suit up, again.

LSU dodged a bullet, although I think he’ll win in court and get to play.

Sorsby has completed his 35-day in-patient rehab for his gambling addiction at Algamus in Goodyear, Arizona.
All better now like Vrabel is after a few days in sex rehab. lmao.
This timeline is wild.

Doubtful. This is one where the rule is pretty damn clear

If you have an “addiction” to murdering people, does that absolve you of any responsibility?

That hasn’t prevented obviously incorrect rulings before. Theoretically his attorneys just need to find a friendly judge and then drag things out on appeal while he plays, no?

What are the odds Mr. Sorsby gambled a butt load of money that he wouldnt be reinstated? Its the perfect crime! He walks away a milionare and says to heck with the college game!

Those were for getting around the rules and finding loopholes.
The NCAA strictly prohibits gambling on your own team. They have already banned other athletes for doing the same and Sorsby wont be any different.
While yes the new thing is to tie up the NCAA with legal battles, this isnt one thats as open ended as other eligibility rules. This isnt a Trinidad situation.

So was he in the throes of his gambling addiction when he started betting on Indiana games in 2022?
You know, when he bet to be closer to the team.
Technically, shouldn't every team he played for have to vacate every game he played since he gambled on his own team?

Hes trying to get a temporary injunction by the 15th which is a week before the supplemental draft.

why? There is no grey area on that rule like the others guys are challenging. It explicitly says no gambling. There is no "but only if you are actually playing in the game." You aren't allowed to gamble on sports, period, college or professional. There's absolutely no precedence where the NCAA has caught someone gambling on sports while still in college and let them continue playing. Just because the NCAA has lost medical hardship waiver cases and cases pertaining to athletes getting paid doesn't mean they'll lose here. he gambled and admitted to gambling on games involving his own team. He's done. "I went to gambling rehab for a month" doesn't fix that.

Yep.
Many of those situations dealt with a history of inconsistently applied waivers to the eligibility rules, along with some vagueness in those rules. The Sorsby situation is a different story. (Unless something has changed) it is admitted that he bet on college football, including his own (previous) team.

I think this would be a hill to die on for the NCAA. It would basically eliminate any hope of the NCAA enforcing any of its eligibility rules.

Good. This guy knowingly bet on his own games. Pete Rose treatment it is and should be...
