Bill Simmons is going to have a nuclear melt down if they trade for Kawhi

They can drag it out and try to sabotage Lebron to LA. Or they can try to make LA pay an absolute premium. The Spurs have a lot of leverage here these next few days.

They do and they don't. If the Lakers can pull PG first, they have to think they have a decent shot at LeBron with or without Kawhi.

The Spurs have max leverage as long as the Lakers need Kawhi as the beginning of making a run at a super team. If the Lakers get there without Kawhi, the Celts and Lakers are both loaded and need Kawhi less.

The Spurs have a lot of leverage, but timing is huge for them. They need to finish a deal by tomorrow. Once free agency dominoes fall, their trading partners may have way less need.

Or maybe the Lakers strike out on PG and LeBron. Then, they tap out of Kawhi and just preserve the young core.

If I'm the Spurs, I may want Ingram and Kuzma over Brown and a first. This obviously changes if the Lakers are trying to get you to eat Deng, rather than a third team, though.

Adrian Wojnarowski @wojespn Boston's extremely cautious on Leonard front. There's so much uncertainty w/ Leonard's future -- health, free agent desires, etc. Will Leonard be same player? That's hard to tell. Celtics don't have to make a risky trade and have no intention to do so. It's an interesting dance.

Spurs would be dumb to take Irving for one year over Ingram and Kuzma for the next few years.

Lakers need to right now send Deng and a protected 1st to Orlando to get Deng out of the picture.

Get the Hawks to eat Deng's Contract.

Spurs Get Schroeder, Ingram, Kuzma
Lakers Get Kawhi
Hawks Get Deng/Moritz Wagner/2019 Lakers 1st.

NBA trade machin says it's successful

The most dangerous players right now are those going into their 3rd one or beyond.

There's so many that think they are super max or the 30mil+ max players, but the truth is there's maybe 7?

Lebron
Harden
Davis
Durant
Curry
Kawhi
Westbrook

The next tier like cousins, Paul, Kyrie, Wall, etc just aren't worth it to me. Mostly due to injury history. Guys like Lillard, Lowry and derozan are just underwhelming when the lights get bright.

If I’m the Spurs I want a pick and you’re not cutting me into the Deng part of this and forcing me to take Schroder
