The pendulum has swung back and forth so many times....crazy as it is, I'm thinking he stays.

Tune in next week to see a 180 on that opinion. Probably. Nobody fricking knows anymore

not a surprise given all of the rumors that he wants the clippers to begin with. im pretty firmly in the dont trade for him at all camp now

Me too. Circumstances have changed now that Lebron is on board and apparently willing to be patient with the front office. There’s too many good FA options available next summer to make a dumb trade right now imo

Does anyone believe the Spurs will actually lower their expectations? I gave up on a Kawhi trade like a week ago.

I think the Spurs are still holding out hope he will stay if they can get him into preseason camp.

If they can get him into preseason camp, they can get some time to be around him and talk to him to make him realize it's all water under the bridge, then slap a big 5 year $220million deal on the table and make him say no.

Interesting. NBA execs largely consider Houston the favorite for Carmelo Anthony. Also have heard Lakers, Heat, and Sixers mentioned. I bet it’ll be the Rockets though.

This whole Kawhi situation has been one of the more bizarre things I have seen in quite a while.

Normally a player who wants out will leak to a pet reporter like Chris “Multiple sources” Broussard while the player and their representative will deny making such demands.

Then again, I can’t think of the last major player who had a decidedly unconventional agent like Kawhi’s uncle. I disqualified the Ball family because I said “major player”, not “high draft pick, sneak thief, and high schooler”.

The strange thing is that all of Kawhi’s uncle’s bullshite may end up being counterproductive because, without the relationships with various front offices that other agents have, it’s hard for him to play the game others do about shopping their guy to a team while still under contract.

Not like he can go talk to the Blazers and sell Kawhi while ostensibly talking about the contract of someone else he represents, such as an Evan Turner or Al-Farouq Aminu, because Kawhi’s his only guy as best I can tell.

Phoenix games might actually be worth going to again this year.

Ayton, Booker, Bridges, Jackson, Warren, and veterans Chandler, Dudley, and Ariza?

Suns on the way back

Kelly Iko @KellyIkoNBA Source: Luc Mbah a Moute not a lock to return to Houston in free agency, has interest from five teams. Story on RocketsWire:

quote:

According to a person close to the situation and with knowledge of negotiations, Houston isn’t giving Mbah a Moute the money and long-term security he desires, instead offering him near the same amount as the $2.1 million veteran’s minimum deal he signed for with Houston in the 2017-18 season. The person requested anonymity because he was not authorized to comment about Mbah a Moute.

According to the person, the San Antonio Spurs, Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Clippers, Washington Wizards and Philadelphia 76ers have expressed interest, and at least two of these teams have presented offers to Mbah a Moute.

Going from ariza and mbah a moute to melo is a DRASTIC downgrade.

If they're smart, pay the man. It isn't THAT costly and you keep a very solid 3&D guy.
