Houston hoped to find third-team destination preferable to Chris Paul, but ultimately leaves it OKC to execute next step once Presti confers w/ CP3 agent Leon Rose. Miami remains possibility for Paul (3 years, $124M) -- and OKC obviously has picks to incentivize deal, if needed.

quote:Wall's is definitely because he's never been as good as the other two, plus he had an injury that players usually have difficulty returning back to form, especially considering Wall's style of play.
’m comparing them because Wall, Paul, and Westbrook are widely looked at as 3 of the worst contracts in the NBA.
On the other hand, I think it's a bit hyperbolic to call Westbrook's and CP3's the THE WORST contracts. 538 project's Westbrook's value over the remainder of his to be $219.5 million compared to his salary of $163.1 million. They project CP3's value over the next 3 years of his contract to be $133.4 million compared to his salary of $124.1 million.
Compare that to say Wiggins and his 4 year contract of $121.4 million. They are still projecting his value to be only $58.5 million. And they are bullish because they base a lot on comparable players historically and their age. I think it's likely to be far less than that.
Or look at Kevin Durant and his 4 year contract of 164 million. The 538 model doesn't account for his injury, even though he'll likely miss all of next season, and considering the injury and the age when he'll return, he'll likely be less of a player than otherwise. Even including the $55.4 million and now accounting for the impact of his injury they are projecting for next season, he's projected to have a value of $184.9 million. That seems like a far worse contract to me.

Now that could work out really well for everyone.

I’m not saying that the Thunder made a bad deal, they didn’t. But the deal does not in itself “prove” that they could get “assets” for Westbrook, because they took on a player/contract that I would assume most people is worse than Westbrook (not for the parameters of this deal, but in a general sense).
ETA: anyway, I’m tired of arguing about this, agree to disagree

And it’s impossible to find because it was some random arse thread too. I don’t even remember how it got to that point of him describing you to you.
So he didn't guess that I had a dental procedure, but he DID say that I had a toothache (which was true, fricking sucked).
He was a little off on the shoes, but not by much. They weren't nikes, but they were multi-colored with a black base so. But I WAS absolutely wearing a pels polo and a rope hat.

I honestly have no idea.

But I remember everything else from that day. I remember the procedure, I remember being driven to the airport, remember walking through the terminal and remember the flight. Remember what I did when I arrived at my destination. Everything.
Except the boom meeting. Probably my single biggest regret in life to this point.
Boom roofied you up. No other explanation.

He can be traded whenever, it’s just that you can’t trade players who were newly signed until December.

For some reason I thought that also applied to trades

So CP3 wanted out?

Not possible bubba. Everyone wants to play with Harden bubba.

So the thunder executed a trade that netted them assets for Westbrook.
And somehow, that doesn’t “prove” (why is that in quotes exactly?) that they could get “assets” (that too. Are draft picks not assets now?) for Westbrook?
What are you even trying to say?

Is the thunder’s next 2-3 years considered the parameters of this deal? Because if so then no, most people wouldn’t assume paul’s contract is worse than westbrook’s for the thunder in the next 2-3 years. Several posters in this thread prove that.

quote:And apparantly it's up to Harden whether they'll get the players. Since he apparently didn't want Lebron, they didn't get him. So if he can turn away a deal for Lebron, he can surely get his way with CP3, if another team was willing.

Weren’t all your Houston beat writers on twitter saying none of that was true?

quote:This would make more sense if it was a straight up deal, Westbrook for CP3. But they also got 2 first round picks and 2 pick swaps. Clearly they got assets for Westbrook, even if you exclude CP3.
