Yeah I think this is one case where the Knicks only partially fricked up.
They’d have to be utterly delusional at that point to think they had a chance at Kawhi, so moving on to other business makes sense.
Unfortunately that other business wasn’t handled that well.

I think it's more idiotic PR spin from the Knicks, where they try to make a failure look like a calculated decision.
