It was too big a risk, knowing they likely would finish fourth behind the Raptors, Lakers and Clippers.

That makes what Cris Carter had to say spot on. He predicted (before free agency started) the meetings would be the Lakers, Clippers, Knicks and Raps get the final meeting.
He seems to be the only one at least close to Kawhi's circle.
