A shooting has been reported outside of the Third Base Gate at Nationals Park. Fans are encouraged to exit the ballpark via the CF and RF gates at this time. We're working with law enforcement to provide more information as soon as it becomes available.

I’ve read that the shooting was outside and they were asking fans/players to remain in the ballpark.

Not sure how many people know this but nats park is in southeast DC. It’s been gentrifying since it got built but that is still by far the most dangerous area of DC.
Not that it’s a huge difference to those there but is this an active shooter or Nola/Chicago type violence that’s spilled over into a gentrified area?
Eta: this is where those two girls carjacked that Pakistani man and killed him. 3 more girls were caught there doing the same thing this week but thank god no one died this time.

Totally sad the cesspool of violence that we continue to let run rampant in our urban areas, much less the capital of this nation.

One thing we know is the first report won’t be right and then certain segments of the population will twist the narrative

How come the game didn’t continue it’s like the shooting took place in the stadium it was 5 blocks away

You can hear gun shots as the broadcast cuts away
I don't think those are gunshots.
