What the frick! Last I heard this morning he was being rushed to the hospital because of a severe illness. This is absolutely shocking and came out of nowhere. RIP to a legend, one of the best drivers of all time

Shocking. Read he went into the hospital this morning. Wouldn’t be racing this weekend.
Dead 12 hours later?
Maybe he was septic for the last week and ignored the signs to go get treatment. To pass this quickly had to be something fairly advanced.

I don’t think he went in this morning, I think it was announced this morning. He went in “earlier in the week”.

Side effects from the steroid shot? I know someone who got a steroid shot for a sinus infection recently and has had tons of medical issues since.
