Ummm, Duke OVERACHIEVED last year. Coach K won a national championship with not one elite athlete on that team.

In fact, the only player on that team that will even have a remote impact in the NBA is Kyle Singler.

Mike Krzyzewski is the best basketball coach/teacher on the planet.

disagree with Caroll since he won 2 at USC (in 03 and 04)

Coach K is a laughable nominee - second most college basketball championships ever isn't it?

Augie and Barnes are solid coaches. Mack isnt as bad as this place makes him. People forget he lost his qb in the national championship last year. Then replaced him with the guy that led yall to this fine season.

I think the problem people have with Mack, and I have it with Tressel somewhat, is that you should pull starters earlier in the game to get the key backups more meaningful reps

2 of the worst examples ever, especially Coach K.

Paul Hewitt. Has finished only 1 time above .500 in the ACC (9-7 in 2004, which was his NCG appearance). Already lost to Kennesaw State (2-5) this year. Also, imo his teams are the most boring to watch in CBB.

Charlie Weis. Top 10 recruiting class every year and players always seemed to support him. But, he was fired for his underachieving.

Paul Hewitt is the worst coach in Atlanta.

And I'm including high schools who went winless this year.

Calipari had five NBA draft picks and made it to the Elite 8 last year...five! He is a sleazy recruiting genius but an absolute shite game coach. He's had Tyreke Evans, John Wall, and Derrick Rose and no Final Four (NCAA recognized) appearances, let alone championships.

This is the correct answer. Screw that guy. What an embarrassment.

Totally agree! I would throw in some former coaches too. John Wooden, Tom Osbourne, Paul Brown, Red Auerbach, Phil Jackson, Chuck Noll, Bill Walsh and Greg Popovich.

His finals game with Memphis against Kansas might be the single worst coaching job Ive ever seen at any level.

dude roy williams is actually a pretty good answer, but i guess it is a little outdated. he literally should have won 4 national titles with kansas.

for example, im pretty positive i coulda coached the '97 kansas team to a national title.
