Really puts into perspective how great Dan Marino was when he came into the league in 83 and started putting up stupid numbers like you see today.
Yep.
I remember a few seasons ago, something like 3 QBs had 5,000+ yards. That’s just dumb.

Most underappreciated NFL quarterback of all time has gotta be Terry Bradshaw. 4 Super Bowl titles in 6 years. No radio in his helmet. No protection from targeting. Called his own plays.
Give the guy his due.
I saw that meme too.
Bradshaw was a football god in his day and is currently the most visible star of his era. Not sure what more we have to do for the guy.
Mention Roger Staubach to a 15 year old football kid outside of Texas and get his non-reaction.

Jaws was a hell of a quarterback also. Super great long ball.

Some from my childhood that I haven't seen mentioned who were good but (most) were not considered great -
Brian Sipe
Jim.Hart
Jim Zorn
John Hadl
John Brodie
Craig Morton
Sonny Jurgenson
Steve Grogan
Dan Pastorini
Johnny Unitas and Bart Starr (both a little before my time) used to be mentioned among the all time greats but you hardly hear their names mentioned any longer.

Also played on teams that had eight other Hall of Famers on them.
Mel Blount
Franco Harris
Mean Joe Greene
Lynn Swann
John Stallworth
Mike Webster
Jack Ham
Jack Lambert
Give this supporting cast to half the quarterbacks in the NFL at the time and they are winning Super Bowls.

Steve Grogan
My favorite player in the league when I was a kid. Had 12 rushing touchdowns in 1976 when they played 14 game regular seasons. Stood as an all-time single season record for quarterbacks for 35 years until Cam Newton broke it.
Partial list of his injuries during his career courtesy of Wikipedia.
"Five knee surgeries; screws in his leg after the tip of his fibula snapped; a cracked fibula that snapped when he tried to practice; two ruptured disks in his neck, which he played with for 1 1/2 seasons; a broken left hand (he simply handed off with his right hand); two separated shoulders on each side; the reattachment of a tendon to his throwing elbow; and three concussions."

Doug Flutie
Frick the Bills owner.
The Music City Miracle was total karma.
You dance with the one that brought you.
quote:
Flutie led the Bills to a 10–5 record in 1999 but, in a controversial decision, was replaced by Johnson for the playoffs by coach Wade Phillips, who later said he had been ordered by Bills owner Ralph Wilson to do so.
The Bills lost 22–16 in the Music City Miracle.
Plus Flutie won 3 Grey Cups and was the MVP of Canadian Football 6X.
Warren Moon was 2x CFL MVP in 5 years of playing...Flutie was 6X CFL MVP in 8 years of playing.
