Two rings and people act like he’s Ozzie Canseco.

The fact that Joe Kapp hasn't even been mentioned yet in this thread proves that he is the most underappreciated NFL QB of all time.

1. The only QB to play in the Rose Bowl, Grey Cup, and Super Bowl.

2. He kicked arse and took names:

https://www.si.com/vault/1970/07/20/611157/a-man-of-machismo

3. Possibly invented the jump pass:

4. Vikings players liked Kapp more than Tarkenton, who was seen as selfish and more interested in persoal stats. (I can't find the reference to this.)

5. Kapp's 1974 antitrust lawsuit against the NFL helped shape today's free agency. He should be a hero to today's players.

OK, the following items are not NFL but they're part of his personal legacy. Professional athletes are entertainers, it's more than just stats.

6. He was Cal's first-year head coach when The Play occurred.

7. He was in The Longest Yard

Terry Bradshaw is the most overrated QB of all time. Lol

Dude had close to as many picks as TD's in his career.

Warren Moon is a good one.
I’ll also throw out Rich Gannon:
4th round pick, 17 years in the NFL, 1x NFL MVP, 4 pro bowls, 2x All Pro, 2002 passing yard leader and 1 Super Bowl appearance.

The correct answer to that question is Joe Namath

Brees. He’ll own every record in the book and not have a regular season MVP. He’ll also have 2 SB rings.

Terry Bradshaw

He was given his due back when he played and regarded as one of, if not the best, QB’s in the league.

He has been retired since the early to mid 1980’s. Most posters on this board weren’t even born when he took his last snap.

I'd have to say Sid Luckman, dude was overshadowed by Slingin Sammy Baugh who's the greatest quarterback of all-time but Luckman's the greatest QB in DAAAAAAA BURRS history, a 4x world champ, 1943 MVP, a 6x all-pro, a 3x league passing leader, and threw an NFL record 7 TD passes in a game no slouch in his own right

oh yeah Norm "Flying Dutchman" Van Brocklin, the NFL record for passing yards in a game that STILL hasn't been surpassed, led two NFL franchises to championships, and was WAYYYY ahead of his time with that prolific Rams passing attack, the perfect triggerman for it

Football was a different game when Bradshaw played. Successful QB’s back then threw a lot more interceptions than their contemporaries of today and few were completing even 60% of their passes much less the comp % you see today.

Different era. Different rules

Bradshaw got plenty of appreciation when he played. As the winner of 4 Super bowls he was a celebrity during his playing days. He still gets enough appreciation.

The correct Answer is Earl Morrall. He was QB most of the season for the 68 colts and 72 Dolphins and won Super Bowl V with the Colts.

Mentioned earlier, but I don't think a lot of people realize how good Dan Fouts was.

One of the toughest QBs of all-time and a right arm of gold, underrated for his toughness being a pure pocket passer and ushered the NFL into the passing age with the Air Coryell offense

Agree with this. It was hard to play QB in his era. Defenses had a lot of leeway in how they could play back then. Plus it was still a very run first league. That really didn't change until Bill Walsh came in with his West Coast system and teams tried to copy it.

Really puts into perspective how great Dan Marino was when he came into the league in 83 and started putting up stupid numbers like you see today.
