I know that it is not a legit sport, but the Monday Night Raw after Owen Hart died was pretty damn sad.

The night after Eddie Guerrero died was extremely sad too. I teared up when all the wrestlers came out and did the bell tolls.

I was pretty down after my last game in high school.

sat on the bus for about 15 minutes with all my pads still on (not my helmet though lol) when we got back to the field house... missed what the coach and the captains had to say to the rest of the team.

I really didn't care that we lost and didn't advance in the playoffs... because up until then.. you always had the next game to look forward to.

I had a similar experience

When Gleason blocked that punt everyone in the room cried.

Never cried for being sad for sports. I did puke after Les's first game at LSU.

Same here, except I had it about mid way through my senior year when I tore my ACL.

Joy:
2002 Superbowl
2009 BCS Championship game (was there)

Sad/pissed:
Most recent Lattimore injury
Don't remember the year, but when Penn State stomped on Miami in the MNC ('86 or '87 maybe?). My parents got me all excited to see that game and get to watch who the Bucs were going to draft first overall that year- Heisman Trophy winner Vinnie Testeverde. He played like shite, and Penn State rolled. I fricking cried my eyes out, and was beyond pissed that this clown that kept throwing the ball to the wrong team was going to be doing the same in a Bucs uni for years to come.

So did I, because I knew my grandparents(who were original Saints season ticket holders) lived long enough to see the Saints in a Super Bowl.

Remembered another:

Background being that Siran Stacy had lost pretty much his entire family the year before in a tragic wreck. the video is from a year later, he was invited to be the honorary team captain of the 2008 Iron Bowl.

Greg Moore dying in the 1999 Marlboro 500 (CART Season Finale ). He was only 24 and was going to have a bright future (signed for Penske for the following year). I thought he would one day be a contender in F1 once he won everything in Champ Car/Indy Cars. Haven't really watched motorsports with the same enthusiasm ever since.

I teared up during Emmitt Smith's HOF speech. Specifically the part where he asks Moose to stand up and talks right to him.

Very cool.

Smith is my favorite player ever and I just wish I was older in the 90's.

1994 when the Rangers won the Cup and Messier did it. Death to 1940 chants but Potvin still sucks.

When Saints won Super Bowl, tearful, not sad

I can think of one tearful, but not sad video.
It was a girl's college softball game.
A girl hit a HR in the bottom of the last inning. The runner on base scored the run winning the game.

But the batter stumbled over the 1st base bag and wrecked her knee. She couldn't walk and she had never hit a HR before.

Her coach asked the ump if her teammates could carry her around the bases. Ump said "No, that's against the rules." Opposing coach said "What if my players in the field carry her?"

Ump said "Don't see anything in the rule book against it." So two defensive players carried her to each base and let her touch it with a foot until she got home."
