Extend Aaron Boone. Please. The American League is begging you, Cashman

Nestor hadn’t pitched since September. Fire Boone.

Boone made all the right moves for the Yankees, it’s irrelevant that he walked Betts because his run is irrelevant, the runner at second beats you, you’ve got a force at every base and a hobbled batter at the plate and a lefty vs. lefty matchup, Freeman just showed why he’s probably going to end up on the wall in Cooperstown. Fantastic game. And if Cortes is on the roster, why the heck wouldn’t you use him especially lefty vs. lefty?

I don't even watch baseball, but that ending was sick. Have a couple of friends that managed to get tickets to the game. Pretty jealous atm.

And Boone thought it was a brilliant idea for him to face 3 HoF hitters in Ohtani, Betts and Freeman I would be so pissed if I were a NY fan

As he should have. Took me a second to actually comprehend that’s what they were doing. Then I said, that’s just gonna piss him off.

Then credited his old man for the moment. How can you not be romantic about baseball?

OK, look at the roster and tell me who you’d have used? They were in extra innings and had already used five freaking pitchers.

That was a hell of a game 1. What a finish — Yanks get past Ohtani and are 1 out from the W and then Freeman smashes a grand slam. Crazy.

Uhh maybe Tim fricking Hill who has been their leverage lefty this postseason and has made a career of working out of the bullpen and has a sub 1 ERA over 10.2 postseason innings

My question is, do they end up walking Mookie if Verdugo doesn’t throw it from out of play and advance the runners? That was costly. Did the announcers ever even mention that? It changed the whole sequence.

The real story of that inning was having 7,8,9 up and letting one on. You pinch run Cabrera for Torres who couldn’t make a play at second. Was pinch running really that necessary? It’s not like Gleybar is 47 year old Pujols out there.

The difference is Freddie knows he has to throw strikes. With the base open they could at least attempt to get Betts to chase a bad pitch

I don't think it matters that he threw it from out of play. It was a dead ball at that point.
