Not really. Braves anticipate Acuna playing a corner OF spot when he makes the big leagues. They view him as immensely valuable at all 3 spots.

Wishful thinking Eric. You have Ender in cf and Nick in RF and I think Adams will move to LF. He seeks blocked

Markakis has 1 year left on his deal. Its 11 million. The Braves will eat that if necessary. Acuna will be the right fielder at some point next year.
Kemp is the left fielder and will be for two more years.
Adams isnt stepping into the outfield. He's playing 1st on days Freeman plays 3rd, and might even be moved in the offseason since he only has one year left on his contract.

No way the Braves let Matt Adams log significant innings in the outfield. The Cardinals already tried that, and it was a disaster. Bad enough the Braves let Matt Kemp play out there.

No chance Adams moves to left. Did you see that experiment in STL? He can't do it.

He makes Mark Trumbo look like a Hall of Famer on defense.

@jonmorosi
#Braves pursuit of Sonny Gray is compatible with their trade of Jaime García. In both cases, they are looking for long-term assets. @MLB

of course they are interested in Acuna. 29 other teams would be. Doesnt mean the Braves are going to trade him.

Yankees, Athletics Reportedly Discussing Sonny Gray, Yonder Alonso

The Yankees have been oft-connected to both Sonny Gray and Yonder Alonso, and MLB.com’s Mark Feinsand now cites multiple sources in reporting that the Yankees are “making progress” toward a deal that could send both players to the Bronx.

Yonder Alonso
He'd be a rental. I wonder how much he'd cost?
I kind of don't like this.

I don't either... No talent destined for MLB in the next two years. I will be pissed if Adams is part of this

Feinsand notes that colleague Jon Morosi reported the Athletics’ interest in center field prospect Estevan Florial earlier today and adds infield/outfield prospect Jorge Mateo could also be a part of talks. However, he also notes that one source deemed Gleyber Torres, Clint Frazier, Chance Adams and Justus Sheffield as “close to untouchable” in GM Brian Cashman’s eyes.

The Brewers and White Sox are in talks about a trade that would send right-hander Anthony Swarzak from Chicago to Milwaukee, reports Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports (via Twitter).

While Clayton Kershaw‘s injury is obviously a blow to the Dodgers, Bill Shaikin of the L.A. Times offers a bit more encouraging detail on the situation. While the team was initially fearful that Kershaw had again injured the disk that he herniated last season, manager Dave Roberts told reporters that a scan confirmed that this injury does not involve last year’s herniated disk.

I like the idea of getting a guy like Gray who is under control for a while.
Also, Alonso has been absolutely arse in the last month. They don't need him.
Plus, apparently Greg Bird might be back before the end of the year.

The let Frazier, Headley, Romine man 1B... Hell let Ellsbury give it a go... Austin is still 2-3 weeks out but I'm ok with Cooper Choi platoon even though Choi was sent down.
