As long as Orioles ownership approves, executive VP of baseball operations Dan Duquette has told other teams that he is open to trading three of his top relievers (Zach Britton, Brad Brach and Darren O’Day) as well as outfielder Seth Smith, Ken Rosenthal reports via his Facebook page.

The Red Sox and White Sox are “in talks” on third baseman Todd Frazier, tweets Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports. Heyman notes that there’s nothing known to be done yet but adds that something could come together “fairly soon.” For what it’s worth, Frazier was announced as a healthy scratch from tonight’s lineup, which further lends credence to the notion that something could come together. USA Today’s Bob Nightengale reported over the weekend that the two sides had begun to move closer to a Frazier swap.

That would probably put the Sox as just about the only team that could challenge the Stros if they can nab Frazier.

They desperately need a power bat.

That seems like it would cost a lot for a non-contender.

What are those contracts like?

Frazier's road splits are good...just can't hit in Chicago for some reason.

I'm assuming the Yankees would have him play first?

An hour ago, it appeared Frazier/Robertson were headed to the Sox. Smells like the Yanks jumped in last minute with a better package and the inclusion of Kahnle to keep the Sox from getting better.

If they include Torres or Frazier then I will kms.

Hopefully not Chance Adams, either.

This is dumb, IMO.

The Yankees are close to a deal that would bring Todd Frazier, David Robertson and Tommy Kahnleto New York, reports Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports. Bruce Levine of CBS Chicago first notes that the Yankees were the “closest” team to landing that trio.

Would be disappointing for Yanks fans to lose Torres this close to a callup and get Frazier who is pretty meh IMO but I guess the team is plenty young. Not familiar with the other guys sans C. Frazier.
