I honestly have no idea how anyone makes contact against him
Posted on 7/14/17 at 9:36 pm to BayouBengals03
Yeah was certainly one I did not agree with last off-season. Made no sense to spend that much on a position you only want to use for an inning

18th blown save on the year

He has zero control. Just throws hard. I said it last year when he pitched for the Yankees.
Dudes just sit dead red, and when you get the barrel to a 98mph fastball, it gets hit hard.
Watching Betaces and Chapman is painful. Chapman just lost the game without recording an out.

Infield did him no favors, they never hit out of the infield

I would be more upset right now, but I literally can't bring myself to care. I've seen the same shite all season. This team has less heart than any team I've ever watched. And the bullpen is atrocious.
This is the must frustrating Yankees team since pre-strike.

I'm just hoping it means sell instead of buy. Even pennies on the dollar for certain players
Posted on 7/14/17 at 9:40 pm to tduecen
They're going to get swept by Boston and end up 2 games under .500 by the time this road trip is over.
They were 15 games over a month ago. Basically impossible.

They don't have anything to sell. Pennies on the dollar would be stupid.
ETA: unless its chase Headley because frick that guy. But nobody wants him he's trash

Between the slump and now injuries I'm not sure this team has an Identity

Losing Castro has hurt the most.

You're expectations were too high. They weren't supposed to play this well because they actually aren't that good
Posted on 7/14/17 at 10:12 pm to Lester Earl
No they weren't
I expected this team to compete for a wild card spot. That's pretty much what they're doing.
The thing that sucks is that the time they started playing poorly also coincided with all the injuries. This is by far the most injured team in baseball this season.

Yeah I expected to be over .500 and challenging for a WC position. Pineda and Tanaka haven't pitched how I thought but Severino and Montgomery have exceeded expectations.

The Braves aren’t done looking for a controllable starter after missing on Jose Quintana, per Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports (links to Twitter). Atlanta pushed hard for the southpaw, per the report, with the team dangling Ozzie Albies as a headliner — though Passan’s source makes clear that talks never reached an advanced stage.

Mets GM Sandy Alderson acknowledged that his organization will remain in a selling position unless things go “exceedingly well” before the deadline, as Marc Carig of Newsday writes.

Marlins player who very clearly is in demand is right-handed reliever David Phelps, as Spencer also reports. He’s “drawing far more interest” than is closer A.J. Ramos, per the report

Braves righty Arodys Vizcaino could well factor in trade talks as well. He’s throwing off a mound today and seemingly won’t be far off from a return, per David O’Brien of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution (via Twitter)

Their run differential is +100 and they've blown the most saves in baseball with a pen featuring Clippard, Betances, as Chapman; and they've had the most injuries in baseball by a wide margin.
Gregorius
Sanchez
Holliday
Tyler Austin
Castro
Ellsbury
Hicks
Sabathia
Chapman
Warren
Have all spent time on the DL this season.
Starting 1st basemen Greg Bird out for the year. Torres, who would be starting at 3rd by now, out for the year. Dustin Fowler (a top outfield prospect) comes up and destroys his knee in his first game before he even gets to bat. Michael Pineda likely out for the year now.
All of this shite, plus one of the worst managers in baseball, and they're still over .500. I'd say an expectation for them to be in the wild card race is perfectly reasonable. Without the worst luck possible, they'd probably still be leading the division.

its unfortunate the angels dont have any real assets with trade value outside of mike fricking trout. theyd probably be super aggressive and would have made some major shite go down

Saw something saying Todd Frazier to Red Sox could be very close to being done
Take it with a grain of salt though cause I don't remember the source and am too lazy to go back and find it
